22.01.2022 This Saturday from 2pm we're opening a beautiful new outdoor exhibition, Water Walks, showcasing 38 artists who braved the Canberra winter and attended a series of photowalks exploring the hidden intricacies of Canberra's Waterways. 20.01.2022 On Tuesday night, we were delighted to welcome His Excellency Mr. Mohammad Sufiur Rahman, Bangladesh High Commissioner in Canberra, to open a new exhibition, ‘Life and Legacy of the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh Bangabandu Sheik Mujibur Rahman’. The opening was a festive event in the setting sun. H.E. Mr. Mohammad Sufiur Rahman kindly acted as a tour guide sharing personal stories about Bangabandu Sheik Mujibur Rahman with many members of the local Bangladesh and diplom...atic communities. This exhibition is a collaboration between PhotoAccess and the Bangladesh High Commission. 17.01.2022 Thank you to everybody who headed down to our lush garden exhibition this afternoon for the launch of Water Walks! The weather was warm, the Bentspoke beers were chilled and the spirits were high. 14.01.2022 Last week Thursday the 17th of September PhotoAccess welcomed a sizeable group of art lovers to help celebrate the opening of 'The Journey Through'. It was a great night with marshmallow roasting on the open fires, lovely BentSpoke Brewing Co beers and delicious nibbles. The works in 'The Journey Through' are the culmination of an eight month workshop called Concept to Exhibition, this time around mentored by local photographer Grace Costa. There are currently only 3 more p...laces left in the next chapter of this workshop. The 2021 Concept to Exhibition workshop will be led by our staff member Wouter Van de Voorde. 08.01.2022 We want you! Who says photographers can’t make public art installations? We’re on the lookout for a semi-permanent artwork to adorn our exterior wall here at the Manuka Arts Centre. If you’re a photo-media artist and your art practice has been impacted by COVID-19, we would like to commission you to make a new work for public display.... The chosen artist will be paid a fee to make a new work which will be printed 3.2m x 2m, portrait orientation, and installed on one of our walls with excellent street frontage, especially in the summer months as it faces the Manuka Pool. We anticipate the work to be installed for a number of months! Join Future Faces, a two-day workshop re-making the Woden streetscape with a giant photo-mural showing what young people think about our city, now and into the future.... Over the past months Emilio has been chipping away at huge chunks of ice creating huge cyanotype colour fields, photographs and tintypes.
