20.01.2022 Colour or Black/white? When selecting between a colour or black/white version of your favourite photo, sometimes it's really hard to choose what one to use. What I usually do is consider where and when it will be seen. Is it to be framed really large in an open bright space? Will it be seen in a photo album with images around it? Is your room super colourful and therefore your coloured photograph would get lost in the space? Will it be competing alongside other photos on t...he wall or mantle? Will it have a thick black frame or no frame to make a statement? Is it for Grandparents who really want to show off their grandchild and therefore colour is more suitable? I know, I know so many decisions, but usually just imagining it where you want it will naturally clarify answers for you. I'm always here to chat through your ideas. 10.01.2022 No matter how many babies I've photographed in 14 years of running Photobaby, I still get a buzz capturing the perfection that are newborns. And yes, I am a photographer who sees babies in the shopping centre or a park that I don't know and wishes I could photograph them in my studio. So many times I've thought about walking up to the parents, introducing myself and basically begging them to visit my studio so I could indulge and take photos of their beautiful baby. 09.01.2022 During Stage 4 restrictions in Melbourne, my daughter and I have been enjoying afternoon walks in our local park. Kyla's always shown an interest in photography so it really wasn't a surprise that she wanted to take her camera. What did surprise me though was how much she noticed around her - lighting, framing a shot, colours, reflections, linear patterns, silhouettes, moments. I was so impressed!
