18.01.2022 Welcome, Swallow! I wasn’t just saying g’day - this little fella is actually a beautiful little ‘Welcome Swallow’, native to Australia and our close islands. . This little guy darted around me as I packed up my gear after a sunrise shoot then perched up on the jetty handrail, watching me curiously and just long enough for me to unpack everything again and fire off a couple of shots! . 16.01.2022 A stream roughly half way along the Hooker Valley track, Aoraki/Mt Cook NZ. This is a 3 hour return hike, across 3 picturesque swing bridges up to Hooker Lake - a glacial lake complete with icebergs, formed by the constant retreat of the Hooker Glacier as it contracts by about 50 metres per year up the south western slope of Mt Cook. However I’m now on holiday in the always amazing South Island of New Zealand for a few weeks and can’t wait to edit some of the 100’s of images I’ve captured already. Here’s a sneak peak - the iconic Lupin against the Southern Alps. As beautiful and prolific as they are, Lupin are actually an invasive species which encourage the growth of weeds due to adding nitrogen to the soil.
