25.01.2022 Had to drop onto HMAS Stirling yesterday evening to grab a couple of shots of the Submariners Mess Dinner, then took the opportunity to nab a few pics around the 'golden hour' and luckily got a little of the nature at Garden Island. Lucky with the crabs (they were a little surprised to see me as very few humans would be there at that time)... Shot the Cormorant with the Nikon D4 & 500mm F4 lens, the scenery / crabs with the Z7 and 20mm 1.8 lens (one of my fav's)

24.01.2022 A few shots of Safety Bay and Shoalwater this morning... A once in a decade storm saw huge tides, strong and destructive winds - and then this evening a few sailboards taking advantage of the wind! First shot a two photo stitch - Nikon FE with 50mm lens, the fifth shot a three photo stitch - final shot taken with the Nikon FE and 500mm F4 Lens... Even an iPhone shot in there! (guess which one!)

09.01.2022 Recently completed a short six day tour of the Mid-West WA... Included Baladjie Rock - interesting meet-up there! - then up to Lake Ballard heading North through Mt Jackson Homestead... A few windy days on Lake Ballard, then heading North to Leonora, quick look at the old town of Gwalia (worth a good 1/2 to 1 day to gain a real perspective), onto Kookynie (dropped into the Grand Hotel for a beer (thanks Duncan!) - and then to Niagara Dam for a wonderful nights camping before ...heading home a very relaxing last camp just outside Merredin. ALWAYS terrific to get away - and with such a terrific bunch :) Thank You Thelma for allowing me to ride up in your Jeep and Van - and HAPPY Birthday whilst in Lake Ballard :) Link to the bulk of the few images I took over the week. 08.01.2022 Nature has a way... The Hooded Plover has a very rudimentary 'nest' (simple area on the ground) and give birth to usually to one or two young... Enclosed a few snaps of several pairs of young born very close to the Sir James Stirling Mess on the Navy Base - HMAS Stirling. They look amazingly fragile - however mum was very observant and concerned if anyone came too close... Taken with a 500mm Lens so I could keep my distance.
