15.01.2022 Models, Firepits and Bush Couple weeks I ago did a photo shoot involved a model make up artist, manager and it little old me. Shoot was around casual lifestyle setting where we walked around the property captured photos of the model in different locations using different lighting techniques.... While this is typical photo shoot I do, I thought I would share with you the before and after image along with the brief overview of what goes in to post processing of some images. Hopefully looking at this video you'll come out with an appreciation and understanding of the key points to make it look realistic when you do use Photoshop. Ok most of the time when you are masking out a subject in Photoshop you dont know how well you have done and if your mask has completely covered the areas that you want it to. 08.01.2022 What an Interesting Sky! Working through some photos of the couple of events I've taken recently to break in the weather when I exported rent 300 images out of Lightroom so I can then continue some post processing as a looked outside the sun was setting and although I didn't really need an excuse, it was my excuse to go outside. This image is comprised of 29 images stitched together using Lightroom post processed in photo shop to bring out the detail and the colour and I must... say, kind of looks okay. What you think? 04.01.2022 What Does The Smell Of New Studio Lights Smell Like? Bloody awesome I would say. Last year one of the schools I teach Photoshop, Lightroom and photography at asked for my advice on what they should get in the way of new studio lighting as their existing equipment was aging and needed replacement. I gave them a shopping list that included 3 x Elinchrom 500, with some light modifiers that included med softboxes, umbrellas, and grids. With stands and remote triggers I also r...ecommend Canon 600 speedites with remote controllers, collour correction and theatrical gels. When all the gear arrived the other week they asked me out to help them set it up and give them a quick run down of what was what and I would hate to leave them in the lurch, so I jumped at the chance. hahahahahaha It didnt take too long to get the stuff out and put it all together giving them some tips along the way.. I did learn one tip Where you are setting these types of lights up dont look directly into one when it is on full power from only 30cm away and make it pop... The last year I must say has been kinda hectic in all sorts of ways but what was lacking was a creative spirit and passion that photography can bring. This, to be honest, wasn’t due to anything other than not having enough time to do all the things in life that drive us and give u...s our and sense of worth.
