24.01.2022 Cracker of a cloudscape this morning. 6 shot pano - or rather 3 x 2 shot panos hand blended - Fuji X10

24.01.2022 Searching for that perfect gift? Why not a beautiful A3 calendar, the gift that reminds the recipient of you every day. I have a selection available at RedBubble including a Caboodle of Cats, Tasmanian Temptations, Seafaring Hobart, landscapes, and I am working on an After Dark one (including aurora shots) which will be up soon. A little taste from a couple of the calendars . . . .... http://www.redbubble.com//111688-a-collection-of-calendars

24.01.2022 Who would be interested in a trip to Cradle Mountain, at, say, end of October? If we stay at the Waldheim Cabins it is around $50 per night per person, and the...re is parking. Read down and if anyone is interested, let me know, along with preferred dates. It would be nice to get 8 people in total, and we don't have to all do the same things daily. The fitter folk can go and do their thing and the amblers, like me, can go for the gentler forays. I was thinking 3-5 days would be nice, and so far all the cabins are vacant for the dates from Sat Oct 27 to Thurs Nov 1. Karanna 2 is booked after that date. The cabins Karana 1 & 2 are each two rooms with 4 x single bunk beds - 2 up, 2 down, and close to the amenities block. Unit includes small basic pots and pans (if cooking casseroles or special meals you may wish to consider bringing along larger pots and pans), basic crockery, cutlery and utensils such as colander and mixing bowls; a tea towel and dishwashing requisites are provided. Unit includes electric stove with oven, grill and cook-top; bar fridge and electric heating. There are no power points for extra appliances - we took 2 power boards. The electric panel heater kept us very cosy indeed. The provided facilities are excellent, a full stove with oven, very good pots and pans, full sets of cutlery, not necessarily matching but everything you need. You do need to bring drinking water unless you want to boil all water for drinking. We took a 20 litre bottle and had quite a bit left, for a 3 day stay. The showers have hot water and a wall heater - except I couldn't get the darned thing to work so it was a quick dry down and dash back to the hut :) Rate is for bed only, bare, so linen is required, I prefer to take my own, but I'm funny that way :), or you can book at $11.00 per person at time of cabin booking. The site states Max # of Persons is 8, but we found 2 people in a 4 bunk was crowded, as there is NO storage space. We used the top bunks for our bags and belongings. So if we could get 4 people we could book one of these cabins, or 8 and book the 2. See more

19.01.2022 Time to share the cold and flu remedy again. I have not had the flu for 3 years, and I cannot tolerate the flu shots, and I am square in the 'vulnerable' demographic at 66. This really works. I have a preventive cup in the morning, but if you wake with a sore throat and the stuffed up feeling, 2 or 3 cups through the day can often nip it in the bud. I also recommend echinacea, which is one of the few herbs best taken in tablet form (we take Cenovis echinacea 5000), 2 per day in the flu season.

17.01.2022 Crowd funding. Who's done it successfully - or unsuccessfully? I have decided I would very much like to get to the US to se the so called 'Great American Eclipse' next August and have picked my sport on the border between Georgia and Tennessee. I have been 'eclipse chasing' - mostly online, since the 1990s. I did get to Greenough, near Geraldton Western Australia in for the annular eclipse in 1999 (thanks in part to Olivier Staiger) and to Lyndhurst, South Australia in 2002, but have never been overseas for one. So what can I offer? I was thinking a daily blog, instagram images, prints and possibly a book. ALL suggestions gratefully received. I'd like to rent an RV and do some travel pre & post and incorporate it all into project. Maybe even get north and see some aurora action.

11.01.2022 I made an event, and I need to change the date but it is not recognising me as the author/host. God I am getting to bloody hate Facebook. It wants me to create a new Photography by Odille page - it says none exists! Aaaargh!!

10.01.2022 Doing a little re-editing. One from a sunrise at Currumbin, June 2013. I didn't like this when I took it, it seems to have aged well, though.

10.01.2022 Last night's stunning cloud show! 20:18, from Glenorchy looking west. 5 shot pano, Fuji X-T1 and XF18-55 lens

08.01.2022 Dear Hobart Hire Car companies - you scored a huge FAIL last night. Our guests from the Netherlands, who are on a long dreamed 7 week trip round Australia, ha...d their flight from Melbourne delayed by the vile weather. On arriving at Hobart Airport at around 9.30pm, they found the company they had pre-booked their car hire with had packed up and gone home! They had no alternative but to take what must have been an expensive taxi ride from the airport to Glenorchy. And of course they could not do a bit of shopping on the way, as they had planned. These people are not fly-by-nights but older people, whose details you must have had in full. Surely if you have confirmed bookings and you know the customers flight is delayed by factors out of their control, you could have made some sort of arrangement for the keys to be available? 08.01.2022 I'm interested in buying a Helios lens but very wary of buying from Russia/Ukraine etc, moreso as I am in Australia. Who's bought from there? And if anyone has had good service with an eBay seller of these lenses, would you please share their ID? I'll be cogitating for a while yet but looking at prices and availability at the moment. I'd love a Helios 43 but haven't seen one for sale yet.

07.01.2022 Testing a new logo. Opinions welcome, but I'm fairly happy with this one for a simplified logo.

06.01.2022 A big thank you to the lovely person from Kalamunda in WA who purchased a print of this image from my Fine Art America shop. http://fineartamerica.com/saleannouncement.html

06.01.2022 Coming to Tassie to enjoy the wildlife? Please drive slowly, especially in the dark hours, as our wildlife use the roads too. This wombat and her half grown ...baby were photographed on a rural road not too distant from Hobart by one of my friends. I know you'd feel dreadful if you killed or injured these wonderful creatures, so please - ease off the speed pedal and enjoy the scenery instead. See more

06.01.2022 Id dearly love to win this, as it has been a long held desire, for over 30 years, to visit Antarctica. Please help me by voting for me.

04.01.2022 A big thank you to the customer with taste and discernment ;) who ordered a laminated poster from this shot. Enjoy! http://www.redbubble.com//6844967-carissa-moore-pre-roxy-s
