25.01.2022 Mama bear and (sprouting) cub. Alaska 2013

23.01.2022 Our third featured gallery from our 2013 photography competition. Sam Griffiths sent in this wonderful selection of images, which really show just how incredibl...e the wildlife around the Okavango Delta can be. Botswana is a true wilderness region of the world and it certainly ranks highly for the safari enthusiast. 22.01.2022 The things we do to get the shot lol

17.01.2022 Happy Birthday to My Darling Angie who is right now doing her yoga and pilates - like the rest of us should be doing - sipping a cup of freshly ground ginger an...d lemon tea (like the rest of us should be doing!). I am just off on my bike to battle with some of the lunatics and lunacy on our roads. It will be roast chicken lunch to welcome Alia and Richard and our Grandson Michael home from the coast and Tsavo where they were just on safari - they had some great dives of the reef at Mombassa - stayed at the Serena Hotel which was wonderful. Michael loves the water and is up on his own two feet at the age of 10 months - and those same delightfully cute hands and feet from when he was a tiny baby have been cast in bronze by Dennis Matthews of Matt Bronze our friends and neighbors here in Langata. If you are ever in Nairobi you have to visit his foundry and gallery. But nothing is more important than celebrating Angie's life today - she has been amazing throughout and I am blessed to have her in my life. And talking about life. We are just watching a copy of Carl Sagan's brilliant personal journey called Cosmos - it was made in the 1970s but is still a remarkable body of work. Have a wonderfully restful and loving Sunday wherever you are!

15.01.2022 A herd of elephants stayed in silence for two days after the death of Lawrence Anthony the man who saved them. Exactly one year after his death, to the day, the herd marched to his house again. It is something that science cannot explain. #AnimalsInLove

15.01.2022 A dedicated photographer.

14.01.2022 I was nominated by Paul Sumi to take part in the "Artistic Photo Challenge." One photo a day for five days, selecting a new participant each day to join the cha...llenge. This is the 2nd day. I'm nominating Anthony Goldman, if he would like to participate. Alan's forte is wildlife photography. His photography in Florida and Africa is outstanding Today's photograph is of a leopard named Mvula. This shot was taken back in 2007 when he was only 2 years old. He is now a massively big boy and is a dominant male in northeastern part of Sabi Sands

12.01.2022 Our very first Aardwolf sighting ever! In nearly 20 years of African photo safaris we have never seen one of these rare creatures and then we stay at Toko Lodge (just outside Etosha near Galton Gate) and see 5 over two nights on Toko night drives!

06.01.2022 Bullet train! No, this isn't a cheetah but a leopard doing a very speedy impersonation. It was almost midday today when we spotted this young leopard making hi...s way up to Rhino Ridge (where we'd spent a couple of hours watching Blackie and then Lipstick in honeymoon). When we made our way to him he hid deep in the grass before making a bolt for it which thankfully I caught. Nikon D810 + 400 f/2.8 + 2 x converter 1/1000, f/5.6, ISO 320 See more
