25.01.2022 Have been busy doing some walks while in Switzerland! One of my students sent through these photos she did ON MANUAL MODE with her newly aquired knowledge after a walk. 25.01.2022 ~ next winter walk will be SUNDAY JULY 27 ~ grab your camera, put on some warm clothes and come out to learn some new things, apply them straight away and finally know how to use your camera on the manual setting!

23.01.2022 **Christmas time**, the time where cameras small and large are given and received with so much excitement!! Resolutions are made to go out and take photos, prove to the world (and yourself) that you ARE creative, aiming for social media domination with your upcoming family or holiday photos and swearing that this time, you will read the manual (plus all those online tutorials) and learn everything about your new toy.... But we all know what happens to 90% of resolutions... A...nd back to using your phone for photos it is and your pretty camera with all its potential just sits in the cupboard. Master Photographer Ansel Adams once wisely said "The one most important part of a camera are the twelve inches behind it." Ill take you out of the potential boredom and isolation of online tutorials and manuals and get you out of your house. Photography has to be experienced hands on to be learned and improved. I take you out and teach you what you need to LEARN. You APPLY it straight away and repeat it until you KNOW it. Love your camera, love your photos. 14.01.2022 "I didnt think Id ever be able to get off the auto setting on my camera but Francine explained it in a way that wasnt daunting and within and hour or so I was taking pictures that I never thought I could". feedback from Amy, one of my private tuition students who did her class 3 week before welcoming her first baby!! If the WHY is big enough, you can do anything. Her motivation is to take great photos of her newborn soon and Im looking forward to the next session with the actual subject ;)

10.01.2022 ... STUDENT FEEDBACK... Maryanne booked about 4 sessions with me over a few months and I asked her for feedback. Here is what she wrote (and it makes me very happy =): "You taught me so much - you have a really high level of skill in imparting what you know and are very generous in giving your own insights and learnings to your students - you are able to meet the person on their learning curve - this is quite rare - I really felt you were so confident in your own skill t...hat you knew that you lose nothing by passing on your knowledge - this makes you very unusual and I am so grateful for your generosity. I am really enjoying my photography so much more since our tutorials - I have learnt from you about being confident and free with my camera, more confident about photographing close, picking an aspect which pleases me, looking for the lines and angles, looking up at city skylines, using focus points, waiting for right light, changing lenses to match what I want, I have had more and more positive feedback from people about my shots and have been confident enough to offer my pics of events to organisers. 05.01.2022 STUDENT FEEDBACK Alison booked quite a few sessions with me in preparation to her trip to Africa. I cant wait to see the photos! "In my lessons with Francine I have learned how to use my new SLR, increased my confidence and improved my photos substantially.... Francine was very good in helping me work my way around my Panasonic. She taught me so much about the features that it would have taken me so long to learn solo. During my lessons Francine gave me immediate feedback on my images as well as tips on improving them, both in composition and by using filters which I had not done previously. After my lessons with Francine my shots from holidays in Noosa and Africa are much better than any I have taken previously plus I am more aware of my surroundings and the potential for a good shot." 03.01.2022 Great session yesterday with a student who wanted to learn to capture street photography on "grey days". Hes got a great style in harsh lighting conditions so yesterday we went out and played with different moody tones of Grey. I enjoyed taking some shots myself and seeing his face light up as he discovered the few things that had been holding him back.
