05.01.2022 Audiences at this month’s Flickerfest will be treated to a taste of Jasmin Tarasin's upcoming debut feature. Set in the rural backlots of 1920s Australia, the proof-of-concept short - 'The Story of Lee Ping’ - follows a young Chinese woman (Jillian Nguyen) who is imprisoned as an erotic dancer. As she plots her freedom, Lee meets Jack (Mark Coles Smith), an Aboriginal farmhand who changes her perspective. Screening at 6.30pm on Jan 23rd as part of the ‘Best of Australian’ shorts programme. 03.01.2022 'Goodbye, Home' is a poignant story about a human and koala family as they are forced to evacuate their homes during the devastating bushfires of the 2019/2020 Black Summer.
