16.01.2022 I had the privileged of being asked to make a photograph for Bec of just her, her hubby and her in laws earlier this year after her father-in-law passed away. I had to use the top two photos and recoloured it, added bits and took pieces away and generally spruced it up and made one seen at the bottom.

15.01.2022 Latest commissioned piece :) Restoration and colour.

14.01.2022 This is William Sutherland circa 1930. This is my children's Great Grandfather. I have coloured this photograph and I am really enjoying doing these for people. I like to get as much detail as I can. This one will be a challenge with all the leaves needing shading to ensure they don't look flat.

13.01.2022 Not the best quality photo to begin with but this one is my Grandfather who died in August 2012 at the ripe ol' age of 97 (as did his father before him). Although this photo is nearly 100 years old I can see such a resemblance with my brother! My brother died at the age of 20 so even though the quality of this photo is not very good you can understand why it is a special one and having it coloured really gives it another breath of life.

12.01.2022 The Sloots family, circa 1930. When I first scanned this images and took a look at the results, there were a few things that I noticed that may not have been visible with the original image (due to size). One was the knuckles on young Eppo, they look like he has spent many days playing in the dirt :) the second thing was a scar on Mother Sloots face beside her nose and a little to the left and beneath her mouth. At first I removed the blemish but on closer inspection of the original there was no mark on the photograph so it had to have been on the skin. Just fascinating!

11.01.2022 Colouring this photograph was really challenging. The blown out highlights made it difficult to know what was what but I think I did an ok job in the end. I still wonder about this building and if this may be an historically significant photograph because I had no luck finding any information on it. If anyone knows local people from bright I would love it if you could ask them if they know anything about it.

08.01.2022 Honestly I find this photograph shocking, but I can not help but be fascinated by it. The whole spectical they made of this young man's body, the disrespect it was given. Joe Byrne was born in Victoria in Woolshed in November 1857, his father was born in Australia and his mother was an Irish immigrant. Joe Byrne was Ned Kelly's best friend and was probably the designer of the famous armour the Kelly Gang wore during the siege at Glenrowan on June 28 1880 that saw Joe Byrne ki...lled after being shot in the groin, severing his femoral artery and causing him to quickly bleed to death. After Joe had been shot and killed the Glenrowan Inn was set alight, but Joe's body was recovered before the fire took hold although his body was sooty and a little scorched. Joe's body and Ned Kelly were taken to the Benalla lock up. Early the following morning, it was probably very cold and I am sure in the photograph I can see a foggy back ground, Joe's body was taken outside the lock up and strung up in front of the door for the press to take photographs and an illustrator to sketch the bushranger. His body was only removed after a young woman begged the police to let Byrne rest in peace. After none claimed his body it was buried in the Benalla cemetery at 4pm the same day. This spectical was Captured by J.W, Lindt in 1880.

07.01.2022 This is a painting of a young Walter (Wally) Selwyn Lanning (b 1914) created during his service in the 2nd 24th Division where he served in Boganville in ~1941-42 fighting a Japanese invasion into Australia. It isn't sure who painted this piece or exactly when. The sister of the young man in the painting, Amy, only has a black and white photograph of the painting and isn't sure where the painting is now but it could possibly be with a nephew of hers (grand child of Walter) in QLD. She would love to know of it's whereabouts or what happened to the painting so if you know of anyone who may be related to Mr Wally Lanning please pass on this information and I would gladly put you in touch with Amy :)

02.01.2022 Taken about 94 years ago, Rosalie Emily Watson nee Hamilton. Restored and colourised. All I had to go on was that she had brown hair and bright blue eyes :)

01.01.2022 Eighty Four years since Phar Lap died. Such a amazing horse and such a perfect time for him to be amazing for all of the people of Australia.
