15.01.2022 It is with great pleasure that I announce the launch of Photowords new guidebook on Arkaroola in the Northern Flinders Ranges, South Australia. Written by Grant Da Costa. Arkaroola is in the top echelon of outdoor destinations in Australia. Scenic grandeur, fascinating historic relics, engaging drives and a remarkable collection of walks are all within a day’s drive of the Village. The book has 13 specially-prepared maps to guide you on your way to enjoying the 5 Locations (p...laces of special interest), 10 Drives and 26 Walks. The walks range from strolls of a few hundred metres to full day epics into some of the wildest and remotest country in Australia. No matter what your interest, the comprehensive range of activities will have you covered. To purchase, or for more information, visit our secure on-line shop: www.photowords.com.au/shop

12.01.2022 I should have mentioned that for the first time in 25 years of publishing, I have released my new guidebook to Arkaroola as a PDF file. This is great for the customer because it gives them quick and easy access to the book for minimum cost. And you can either print out the full book, or just those bits you want for the car or trail. The PDF file is suitable for use on laptop, tablet, smart phone or any device that reads PDF files, costs a mere $9.95, and is delivered by email. So pop on over to my online shop and grab your copy now. Even if you’ve already been to Arkaroola I guarantee there will be plenty of stuff you won’t have seen before. Cheers, Grant. www.photowords.com.au/shop

09.01.2022 Welcome to the launch of Photowords Facebook page :-) Products include guide books, creative writing books and digital images. The idea of the Page is to allow interaction between Photowords and its customers and potential customers. Guide book owners are especially encouraged to contribute their own experiences of hiking and car touring in the areas covered by the guides, including comments on the track notes, any corrections, new walks they may have done, and photos of cou...rse pretty much anything that they think will be of interest to others. As well as being enjoyable in itself, another goal of the Page is to keep the guide books as up to date as possible through user feedback. 07.01.2022 I have now started work on the colour inspirational/souvenir edition of Photowords Guide to Arkaroola. This will be a PDF with the same text content as the black and white version, but will feature the best of my photographs covering all the walks and drives. It will have practical value as well, since the photos will help visitors with limited time to choose what they want to see. The first step has been to fire up my film scanner and to start scanning my 35mm slides from the pre-digital era. It's pretty exciting as I haven't seen some of this stuff for thirty years. The photo in this post is an example - a sunrise taken at Arkaroola in June 1986. More to come.

07.01.2022 A milestone has been reached this week - I have in hand some sample copies of the printed version of Photowords Guide to Arkaroola (the PDF version has been available for a while). Choosing a printer and paying for a test run can be a bit stressful, but I am thrilled with the results. Production quantities should be available within the next few weeks.
