20.01.2022 This is AS important as wearing a mask!

15.01.2022 It’s Baby Bird Time! What Do You Do? A baby bird that is attempting to fly is a fledgling. These young birds have short feathers and the ability to hop and flap around, and has the ability to grip onto your fingers. Now if you should find a fledgling, the best thing to do is to step back and wait to see if the adult parenting bird comes to tend to it. At different times, the parent swoops in very quickly, feeds the baby, and then flies away for more food. While it's true that... young birds are vulnerable to predators and injury during this time, this is a natural stage that all birds must go through. Keep a look out and secure the area of any free-roaming cats or dogs that might pose a threat to the bird if you can. It’s OK to move a fledgling out of harm’s way if it’s found on a road or busy path. Its recommended to wear gloves. When in doubt, leave the bird alone and contact Wildlife Victoria on 1300 094 535. It is illegal to house wild animals and birds without a license, even if it is your intent to release it back into the wild. See more

12.01.2022 Dear Clients, As there are cases of the Covid19 Pandemic in Portland, we must be vigilant in remaining safe. No mask - No service. Only 1 owner in with pet receiving treatment (no kids... no partners... no drivers etc). We would appreciate everyone obeying the rules so we can continue to care for everyones sick fur babies. We will not be proceeding with routine vaccinations, nail trims, clips or other non urgent matters. Please be kind, be considerate... we are all in this together...well at least 1.5 metres apart/together!! This applies to both Portland & Heywood Vet Clinics. If your pet is on medications... please call us first to order them.
