20.01.2022 Have you, or do you know someone who has strained their hamstring? One of the most common injuries in sport is the hamstring strain. Hamstring strains are most common among sports that require a high degree of speed, power and agility such as soccer, basketball, tennis, netball and rugby.... The hamstring muscle is made up of 3 muscles: 1. Biceps femoris 2. Semitendinosus 3. Semimembranosus. We use our hamstring in daily activities such as, walking, running and jumping. These muscles work together to produce and control movements both at the knee and hip joint. The hamstring also plays a particularly important role in assisting to protect the Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL), which is an important stabilising ligament of the knee. Interested in learning how to make your hamstrings stronger? I love this version of the bridge. It gets the hamstrings burning, works on trunk and pelvic stabilization and can be made harder or easier. Want to try it out? Call us on 9740 5454 or DM us to find out how you can join one of our exercise classes. #physiohubwileypark #physio #physiotherapy #hamstrings #hamstringworkout #hamstringstretch #hamstringrehab #hamstringcurls #bridge #trapezetable #pilates #reformerpilates #reformer #gym #exercise

13.01.2022 Pictured above is one variation of a plank on a reformer. This exercise is a fantastic way to challenge: Upper body strength... Stabilization between your pelvis and spine Dissociation of your neck/shoulder from the rest of your body Why do a plank on a reformer: The reformer adds an extra stability challenge, as we can adjust the resistance of the springs. A lighter spring is a greater challenge on your abdominal strength, whilst a heavier spring will challenge your upper body and shoulders. Are you ready to give it a go? Call 9740 5454 or DM us to find out more. #physiohubwileypark #physio #physiotherapy #rehab #exercise #pilates #pilatesreformer #plank #plankchallenge #plankworkout #planking #exercise #gym #physicaltherapy #backpain #exercisemotivation #punchbowl #innerwestsydney #westisbest #campsie
