04.01.2022 How young is too young to train athletes? This infographic sums up nicely the benefits towards strength training for pre adolescent children (age >9). The use of soft resistance via bands, sandbags, body weight and gravity provides enough stimulus to make neuromuscular adaptations and more importantly learn fundamental motor pattern movements at a young age. This not only reduces injury risk in young athletes but also improves performance and adherence to strength training and exercise in adolescence and adulthood. Please see a Physiotherapist with an ASCA accredited Strength and Conditioning licence and experienced in the pre adolescent/adolescent populations = Our Physios in North Sydney!! #strengthandconditioning #sportsphysio #northsydneyphysio #preadolescent #kidssports
