21.01.2022 At Physiocare, we pride ourselves on our high cleaning standards. This has become increasingly important with the spread of COVID 19 and preventing its transmission through our elaborate infection control measures. We are taking every precaution necessary to combat the spread of the virus and to protect the community, including training. It is, however, ultimately in the hands of every single person in our community to uphold high standards for hand and personal hygiene, an...d to maintain social distancing. It is important that we remain wary of the vital signs which may indicate infection. Below, as Im sure most of you are aware, are some risk factors that can mean you are at an increased risk of the virus: - Had close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19; - If you have recently returned from travel (including transit through) a country considered to pose a risk OR had contact with someone who has travelled internationally over the past 14 days; - If experiencing fever or an acute respiratory episode (dry cough, shortness of breath or sore throat) and; - If you have any respiratory condition, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart condition, immunocompromised or under any immunosuppressants. We have implemented several infection control measures to minimise the risk of transmission of COVID 19 in the clinic: 1. Bedsheets are removed, replaced with a clean towel, and beds are disinfected at the beginning of the day, after EVERY client and at the end of the working day; 2. We wear masks and gloves with ALL patients; 3. Hand sanitizer stations are placed around the practise, and staff and patients MUST use it before and after visits; 4. ALL equipment or physiotherapy instruments that are used are disinfected after EVERY use; 5. ALL staff and patients are to carry out hygienic practises when sneezing and coughing into their elbows or tissue, which is discarded immediately after use. A thorough hand wash MUST then follow. For any enquiries please do not hesitate to contact our team. We are all in this together

15.01.2022 Travelled all over Australia by foot and transportation Meet James, one of our regular clients here at Physiocare! 13.01.2022 Why it is crucial to stay fit during the COVID 19 pandemic? Despite the recent closure of gyms and fitness centres around Australia, it has become increasingly important to exercise regularly . The reason that it is so important to do so, is that regular exercise will reduce stress levels, thus improving your mental wellbeing during these periods of isolation. Regular exercise will also boost your immune system, allowing it to fight viruses and illnesses better. Regular ...exercise may include but not limited to: 1. 20 30 min per day of moderate paced walking at the park or on a treadmill at home; 2. Swimming in your back yard; 3. Bicycling at the park for 20 min; Regular exercise causes an individual to produce saliva in the mouth, which can cause any illnesses, including COVID-19, to be flushed down the oesophagus when we swallow. The virus will then be destroyed when in the stomach by gastric acids. Regular exercise increases the circulation of antibodies and White Blood Cells (WBCs). These cells form the bodys immune system. An increase in circulation will result in better detection of infections and a more rapid response to fighting infection, potentially leading to quicker recovery time. With increased circulation, there is also increased body temperature. This increase in heat throughout the body will cause the protein structures present in the virus to denature and unravel. The virus loses its integrity, rendering it inactive and unable to have any effect on the host. Furthermore, regular exercise increases the production of dopamine and serotonin levels, our happy hormones. These may reduce the risk of developing mental health related conditions such as anxiety and depression during the isolation period. Our clinic is still running as per normal so feel free to pop in or give us a call for any enquiries! See more
