25.01.2022 That is Aged Care done and dusted I would never have considered working in this branch of physio because my passion lies on the sporting field, but I gave it a second thought when a locum position opened up. Actually enjoyed myself during my time here The slow pace and interaction with the resident was a nice change compared to the busy environment of private practice and sports #physiochoi #physiolyf #agedcare #villamaria #physiotherapy @ Villa Maria Aged Care Berwick
24.01.2022 Slogging out a whole 12 hours at Basketball Victoria's Southern Cross Challenge! #physiochoi #physiolyf #sportsphysio #physiotherapy #basketball #basketballvictoria
24.01.2022 The @theragun G3Pro! My new addition to my repertoire of treatment tools to be incorporated in my clinical practice . The evidence is still out there on the efficacy of percussive therapy devices and there aren't alot of high quality studies looking into the use of these machines . So what better way to assess the effects then by using it on myself in my own training regime and practice . I'm yet to find a widely agreed standardised way to use these devices, so as a st...arting point I'll be following closely the recommendations as set out my Theragun founder, Dr Jason Wersland. Muscle Activation = 30 seconds Muscle Re-Activation = 15 seconds Pain Relief & Recovery = 2 minutes #physiochoi #physiolyf #sportsphysio #physiotherapy #theragun #theragung3pro #percussivetherapy #recovery
22.01.2022 Spinal Physiotherapy Level 2 done and dusted Thank you to all the speakers, convenor, and participants who made this a very memorable course. Special thanks to Alicia, Drew, and Laura who stayed back for the sneaky selfie This marks the end of the Spinal Physiotherapy Level 1 and 2 courses as they have now been updated and reformatted to be Spinal Level A and B. So I was very lucky to get slotted in to this course #physiochoi #physiolyf #physiotherapy #spinal #musculoskeletalphysiotherapy @ St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne

17.01.2022 What a tournament it has been. While the boys performed the best this time round, winning 3 out of their 5 games they were unable to secure a spot in the finals. Well done fellas, hope you all got a lot out of these last couple of days, and I hope to see some of you next year #physiochoi #physiolyf #sportsphysio #pfydfc #pfydbeijingcup2018 #beijingcup #beijing #football @ Beijing

17.01.2022 It has been well over half a year since I've began to get serious with my own strength and health I've incorporating calorie counting, daily weigh-in, intermittent fasting, and regular strengthening workouts into my own lifestyle. With the right mentality and readiness to change I have never felt stronger and fitter While everything I said before may be too much for most people, I've gradually and progressively introduce these components over months until they have become... routine to me. Like my strengthening program, I've progressively overloaded (gradually lifted heavier) myself to lift heavier and better Out of all the exercises I've felt the Barbell Squats to be the hardest to lift heavier of fear of screwing up. Being stuck at 70kg for 2 months, I've finally mustered up the confidence to go up to 75kg, a new PB. Sometimes change doesn't come easily or quickly, but when you are ready change will come #physiochoi #physiolyf #urbanfitnessclub #gym #strengthtraining #motivation See more
15.01.2022 What actually goes on when you do a squat? What forces do you impose on the body as you go down? Is going past 90 knee flexion actually harmful? This is a great piece by Physio Digest on Ciccone, David, Bagley & Galphin's article 'Deep Squat and Knee Health: A Scientific Review'. Breaking down the forces on the knee and giving practical advice on appropriate modifications, this really helps to understand whats is going on when you what someone squat. I will definitely be applying this to my practices and also at the gym!
14.01.2022 What a night!!! Full of performances, culture, and laughter #physiochoi #renminuniversity #culturenight @ Renmin University of China
11.01.2022 Another great LASEM symposium done and dusted. This time on running injuries, I've definitely gain a deeper insight into how to manage these injuries, as well as, understanding more of the role of orthoses and footwear Also get around Dr Peter Brukner's new book "A Fat Lot of Good" and his organisation "Sugar By Half" to help reduce the sugar consumption in Australians and guide them towards a more healthier future #physiochoi #physiolyf #sportsphysio #lasem #symposium #running #runninginjuries #runsci #sugarswap #sugarbyhalf #latrobeuni @ La Trobe University- Health Science Building

06.01.2022 Ridgway Method Bootcamp Presented by the man himself, Michael Ridgway. He has definitely challenged my thoughts on the way physiotherapy is currently being practiced, but has opened the door to the many possibilities RM can bring to the world of physiotherapy Thought-provoking and intriguing The things I've learnt over this weekend, I will definitely take on board in my own practice #physiolyf #physiochoi #physiotherapy #ridgwaymethod @ Melbourne Metropole Central
06.01.2022 Food for thought when we think what is normal and what is abnormal. Most of the time we think to be pain-free is to have "normal" muscles and joints. But the literature says otherwise, as some of us go about our lives pain-free even with some "abnormal" thing in our bodies. Our body has this amazing ability to adapt. Given enough time for this to happen, certain pathologies don't become symptomatic, and we never know we had anything wrong with us in the first place.
04.01.2022 Finally made it to the Yarrawonga Mulwala Multisport Festival and what a cracking day for it! You can catch me by the big blue tent near the outside, representing ETPA (Elite Triathlon Performance Australia) I'm definitely enjoying getting back into the Triathlon scene. Working as a physio at these events is awesome! Great atmosphere, plenty of injuries/treatments to keep you busy, and building relationships with some of the players I actually met up with an athlete whom I treated nearly a whole year ago as an undergrad! #smallworld I'm definitely keen to continue on doing these events in the future #physiochoi #physiolyf #sportsphysio #triathlon #yarrawongamulwala
