22.01.2022 As we are in full swing of the silly season , its important to take steps to ensure you are looking after yourself Factor in some 'me time' - read a book, listen to a podcast, go for a coffee, catch up with a friend. Plan to do something that will make you smile each day. Make time for exercise, whether it be a gym class or a walk outside - don't give up on it.... Continue to eat healthy, it can be easy to opt for fast food at this time. Stock up on healthy snacks and make them easily accessible. Stay hydrated - drink plenty of H2O. Share the chores and workload at home with your family or partner. Ensure you have a calendar handy with deadlines, events and festivities so you and your family know whats happening. Ask for help if needed, this time can be very stressful for everyone so make sure you surround yourself with supportive people. See more

21.01.2022 I’ve been MIA lately - and this is why! On the weekend, I married my soul mate, best friend and biggest supporter. Running a business and having a young family is difficult but to add a wedding on top is chaotic (but completely worth it).... I’m slowing down for a while but am hitting 2021 with a bang! Grayce

21.01.2022 Does wearing tampons feel weird and not right? This can be the case for many women - babies or no babies. But it can be more common after childbirth! Here are a few tips if tampons are frustrating you! ... 1 Your pelvic floor muscles can be too weak. During pregnancy and birth your pelvic floor muscles may lengthen and weaken making tampons more difficult to support. 2 Your pelvic floor muscles may be too tense. If your muscles are tense or overactive it may be difficult or painful to insert tampons or feels like it’s being pushed out. 3 It’s time to try a new product! This can be a very stressful and worrying for a women. So make sure you don’t stress yourself out too much. See your Women’s Health Physiotherapist

08.01.2022 Let’s bring it back to the basics and talk about How to Properly Do a Pelvic Floor Contraction! One of my new favorite cues is to think about your vagina sipping up a smoothie - it’s totally whacky but I love it. A pelvic floor contraction is a squeeze AND lift of your muscles, which are located at the base of your pelvis. This is an excellent way to visualise the pulling UP and IN of your pelvic floor muscles to properly perform a contraction. ... Many think they just need to squeeze their butt or thighs together or hold in their tummies, but those actions don’t adequately activate the pelvic floor muscles. Give it a try today!

07.01.2022 YOUR NEW YEAR REMINDER

04.01.2022 I've had a lot of ladies over the last few weeks ask about Menstrual Cups and whether or not they can cause pelvic floor trauma or increase risk of prolapse. A menstrual cup is a type of reusable feminine hygiene product. It’s a small, flexible funnel-shaped cup made of rubber or silicone that you insert into your vagina during menstruation. ... Lately they have become super popular and are now readily available within most grocery stores and pharmacies. There is very little evidence in the literature to suggest that use of a menstrual cup can increase risk of prolapse or pelvic floor trauma - however correct use is paramount! Things to consider when using or thinking about using a menstrual cup: - Correct fit is KEY - if it's the wrong size it can cause vaginal irritation and discomfort. - If the device is unable to stay inside the vaginal canal, please consult your GP or Women's Health Physiotherapist as there may be an underlying concern. - If the insertion or removal of the menstrual cup is painful, please stop use and seek advice, do not push through the pain. - Appropriate cleaning regime is imperative to avoid infections. - If you are using an topical or pessary type cream in the area do not use in conjunction with the menstrual cup as it may affect the silicone material. - To avoid increase chance of prolapse and pelvic floor trauma PLEASE - ! If you have any questions and would like some advice please feel free to privately DM me!

03.01.2022 I think this quote sums up 2020 pretty damn well! As 2020 comes to an end with relief, its taught us all some very important lessons; the importance of health how much we need & rely on our family & friends not taking for granted the small stuff (shopping, being outside and being able to socialise).... we all have the ability to grow and adapt. Take the time out before 2020 is over to truly reflect on the year that has been, and set some awesome goals for 2021!
