25.01.2022 We have been informed by the PHYSIOTHERAPY association that all PHYSIOTHERAPY clinics can remain open. I will be wearing a mask during treatment and will follow strict sanitisation rules. At this stage all appointments can remain as they are. If anything changes, I will let you know. ... Stay safe

25.01.2022 We at Physiofitness wanted to create some awareness to this story. If you would like to donate to this cause, please do so in the details below. Thinking of this Perth father and the family who will have many challenges ahead.

24.01.2022 We have a passion for getting patients moving. 22.01.2022 On the 12th day of Christmas we are inspired by Shane Holstein. Shane is a very talented ultra runner who certainly knows how to push his body beyond the limits. I first met Shane many years ago when he started training for his first marathon and last year he completed his first 200mile event and a few backyard endurance events. Shane has overcome some amazing battles after going through surgery for osteitis pubis. He has come back from that to do the 200miler at Delirious ...West in which he placed 7th His true talent lies in the backyard lapped events where he placed second at Mirrim Wurit back paddock ultra where he completed 32 laps, just one lap short of the winner. He also did the Clint Eastward backyard ultra where he did 16 laps with an upset stomach from sushi the night before. Shane is continuously working hard to improve his strength and running technique and balancing load with rest. Its been inspiring to be a part of this journey. Well done Shane!!

22.01.2022 We have a secret...

21.01.2022 I wanted to take a moment to thank all of our patients for your support during the last few weeks. As you know Physiotherapy clinics are still open. The reason for this is to reduce the load on the public health system. If we close we could potentially create a growing need for patients to go to the emergency department and further stress an already busy health system. I would therefore like to ask all my patients to treat your physiotherapy appointments accordingly. ... I am here for you if you have an acute injury such as a rolled ankle, a lumbar disc, a pinched nerve, an acute rotator cuff tear or even a calf strain. Please give me a call if you need care. I will provide a safe, clean and sterile environment to treat you in. Please do not feel that you have to go to the hospital if these emergencies happen. However during this time it is vital to take care of yourself and stay home. I have advised patients who are well set up with managing their condition to do so at home with the exercise programs provided. Please try to manage these as best you can by making sure you do your exercises. Your own injury management is now more important than ever. Lets do our home exercises and help to reduce the spread of this virus. A few things to take note of.. Please set up your work from home stations well. Take time to set yourself up to prevent neck and lower back injuries. If you have started running because your gym is closed and haven't run in years, please start slowly or you will injure yourself. I am set up to do online video calls or telehealth if you need any advice and as always, please feel free to email me for any advice. Take care, stay home and look after yourself.

21.01.2022 Well done again Jim Farr for winning our 2nd birthday prize.

21.01.2022 I have received the latest update from the PHYSIOTHERAPY association and unfortunately PHYSIOTHERAPY practices need to close for the 5 day lock down period. PHYSIOTHERAPY in private practice can only be provided via Telehealth during this time. Stay safe everyone... I be opening again on Saturday 6th February 2021. See more

20.01.2022 On the 11th day of Christmas we are inspired by Isobel Robertson. Issi tore her ACL during a netbal game about 18mknths ago. After discussing her injury with her surgeon we all agreed to give her a go at rehab without surgery. Issi did so well and worked very hard to strengthen her knee and improve her balance and proprioception. ... 12 months later we repeated the MRI with the fantastic news that the ACL had repaired. Amazing how the body can heal. Issi has not wanted to return to netbal but as you can see is riding and enjoying all every day activities without any restrictions or weakness.. way to go

19.01.2022 We are excited to be turning two at the end of the month and to celebrate are having a little competition. Up for grabs is a foam roller, spikey ball, resistance band, wheat pack and a $100 voucher for Running Warehouse Australia Just like and share the post to be in for a chance.

18.01.2022 How are you staying fit? How are you staying motivated? How are you staying healthy?... How can you be inspired to inspire others? Lets get together and share stories of inspiration and help each other as a community. Lets help each other to stay accountable and inspired. Please jump in and share happy stories to help everyone on this journey. Without parkrun, lets create a platform whereby we can share our 5km run and still get a like and a pat on the back.. that is what we are missing, so lets re create it. Community spirit. Without kids sport, lets share how our kids are staying healthy and active and give each other fun ideas. Lets help each other eat well and share awesome dishes for inspiration but also accountability. I would like all my patients to share something that you have done to move more, a recipe of a healthy dish or even a talent that you have rediscovered. Lets create a positive change and inspire each other.

18.01.2022 GET MOVING CLASSES: At this time with the safety of all patients and their families being a priority, I have decided the postpone the start of the get moving classes. Exercise is an important part of staying healthy but introducing a class in a closed environment is not something I want to do at this stage. ... The classes will start again in a few months time when the Corona Virus is under control. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

18.01.2022 On the 4th day of Christmas we have Sean Webb as our inspiration. Sean came in to physio before competing in the Rotto run swim with a niggling Achilles. He managed his pain early and did all the right things in rehab to complete a successful race. ... Sean is a great example of acting early and also following the rehab plan which led to a successful outcome. Well done Sean.. hope you have some exciting plans for 2020.

16.01.2022 On the 6th day of Christmas it is Philip Balhorn that inspires us. Here is is playing for WA in Albury Wodonga in the over 70s state game. Philip will be 72 in January and still playing cricket at a high level. I had the privilege of meeting him in preparation for this tournament. ... 16.01.2022 On the 7th day of Christmas we raise our glasses and are inspired by Sean and Karin Smith. Karin is one amazing runner! Running has made a very positive change to her life and she is such an inspiration to those around her. So much so, that her husband Sean got his running shoes on and trained for the New York marathon and I was honoured to be a part of their build to the marathon. ... Well done guys.. cant wait to see what lies ahead in 2020.

16.01.2022 On the 9th day of Christmas I would like to introduce Andre Pienaar He is an amazing runner! He is one of my patients who is tops at maintaining his body. Always getting on top of niggles in time. ... This year he achieved some amazing results to be very proud of! Andre had a win at the Australia Day Ultra 75km & Trails and Ales 100km, 2nd male at the Feral Pig 80km and lastly 5th place at the wild goose. He also won the 2019 WA Ultra series points competition. Awesome result Andre!! May there be many more kms in your legs! With a special big C coming up in 2020:)

15.01.2022 This is a time of change and with all this change I would like to challenge you all to use this time to create some healthy habits. Each day I will touch on something that you can do to create a positive habit which will be life changing. Every day in the clinic I try to work out exercise routines and healthy habits to eliminate or reduce pain. This all has to be done around some very busy schedules with work, sport and socializing. ... Well, at a time like this where many school and sporting activities, coffee catch ups, dinners, work meetings and even commuting is cancelled we actually now have time to focus on ourselves. Lets put this time to great use... I will highlight a few things which I will discuss in detail in the next few days. 1. Healthy habits for working from home: Lets take some time to set up good work stations if you are working form home. The last thing you need is a pinched nerve or a bulging disc. Take those breaks and get out the foam roller or spiky ball or get out that old exercise program you were given but never had time to work on. 2. Make time to exercise Get out the door and get moving or start looking at some home exercise options. 3. With pubs and restaurants closed.. lets make some healthy food, without the rush of work and sport lets put some extra time into cooking and taking the time to enjoy meals again. 4. Prioritize sleep. 5. Reach out to someone on skype and video call, especially those who are lonely and are not able to able to get out. Helping others has a very positive effect on your own mental health. This is a great time to set healthy habits.. I challenge you to think about how you can improve your life today. I will be going into more detail and discuss each topic. Please get in touch if you need help or advise with setting up your home work station, exercise programs or walk/run programs. We can now do all this via video call.

15.01.2022 We have an exciting opportunity for a physiotherapist. Physiofitness is growing and I am looking for a Physio to join me in the practice. If you know anyone who enjoys musculosketal private practice work, please share.

He is currently 37km in on his journey. Its for a great cause and Ive decided to share the link. ... Lets get behind him and donate as every small donation makes a big difference.. Keep going Dean https://give.everydayhero.com//dean-s-northam-to-perth-run

13.01.2022 This is a difficult and unknown time for all of us. Our priority is to keep all members of the community safe. At this time the physiotherapy association has informed us that we can continue to treat our patients. This may change and I will keep you all up to date with the latest information as we receive it.... Please know that I am doing my best to keep the clinic sterile and clean. As I am the only staff member in the practise, it is easier to control. I will ask that you use the hand washing facilities in the bathroom before you enter the clinic. I will wash all surfaces, including doors and the treatment bed before and after treatment. I also do have hand sanitiser which is used throughout treatment. If you are feeling unwell, have traveled out of state or overseas in the last 14 days or been in contact with anyone that has done so in the last 14 days, please cancel your appointment. If you do have to cancel an appointment, pleases be aware that we have introduced an online physiotherapy treatment option. This gives you the option of a video call to discuss your injury, treatment techniques and an exercise program from home, which we hope will help you until we can see you in person. Please stay safe and healthy in this time. All the best Lee-Anne

Its been an honour to be a part of your journey and help you maintain your body to get there. We congratulate you on making it into the London and Berlin marathon for this year. Im very excited to share the journey with you to both those majors.

12.01.2022 On the third day of Christmas we are inspired by Libby Storm. Libby is an amazing and dedicated person. While training for an Ironman she was pushed off her bike and sustained injuries to her right leg and back. After the accident things like sitting at work and walking were painful. Libby was not sure if she would be able to run again. With hard work and perseverance she went on to complete the 100km Australia Day ultra in under 11 hours. ... It was a privilege to be part of this journey. Well done Libby. You are amazing!

08.01.2022 On the 5th day of Christmas it is Robert McManus that inspires us. He completed the Mount Magnet 1400 which is a self supported cycle race from Perth to Geraldton and through Mount magnet and back to Perth. It is around 1400km and this is done over about 3 days. Its not only the physical fatigue that is challenging but sleep deprivation and sun protection are the added challenges. While struggling with knee pain Robert worked really hard to get strong and complete this rac...e coming in 4th place (I hope I have that correct) Well done.. this was a great journey to be part of.

08.01.2022 On the second day of Christmas Our inspiration comes from Darron O'Brien.. your life changing story from being unfit and overweight with some knee surgery thrown in, to now winning races and leading a very healthy lifestyle is inspirational. 05.01.2022 On the 10th day of Christmas we have Thisara Ranawake. When I first met Thisara his knee had swollen up from running downhill in Albany. With the joint in the condition that it was and given his age, I have a strong suspicion that if he had gone to see a surgeon he would have been a candidate for a knee replacement. Thisara worked very hard to balance the load through his knee, strengthen correctly and slowly get back into running, allowing his body to adapt to exercise. He a...lso focused on staying healthy and not gaining weight while being injured. This has now led to some amazing runs last year, building up to the 5km park run in June 2019 and then the 12km in City to Surf. By the end of the year he had achieved the 5km under 30min and is running pain free Well done Thisara, I am very proud of how far you have come. May 2020 be filled with many more kms.

03.01.2022 I have heard some wonderful stories of our patients doing amazing things during this time. It is fantastic to see the positive changes that happen when we have the time and make ourselves a priority. I hope you can be as inspired as I am by Chandika Wanigasekera. ... From someone who came in and laughed when I told him that exercise would be good for him, Chandika has taken it upon himself to go out for a walk most days. He has always been Rashanthis number one supporter but now has made time for his own exercise. I am so proud of him for getting out and giving walking a go. Well done !! He did Monday: 6km Tuesday: 8km Wednesday: wait for it.... 12km Way to go Chandika.. and keep it up!!

03.01.2022 Thank you so much for all the support over the last few months. I would like to take this time to especially thank everyone who has referred friends and family my way.
