19.01.2022 Electrolytes are essential minerals used by the body in numerous processes. It is so important that we keep a good balance of electrolytes to ensure we function properly (via a healthy diet). Examples of electrolytes found inside the body include sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride, magnesium, phosphate and bicarbonate. Do you know whether youre lacking in any electrolytes? #physio #physiotherapy #electrolytes #physiotherapyforwomen #physioforwomen #women #prenatal #postnatal #Lockleys #physiolockleys

19.01.2022 High ankle sprains often occur when your foot is planted on the ground and the lower part of your leg twists inwards. If the force created by this movement is too much for the ligaments at the front of the ankle to withstand, a sprain occurs. Symptoms include pain, swelling and reduced range of motion of the ankle joint. Ankle sprains are injuries we see often here in the clinic. Have you ever sprained your ankle? #physio #physiotherapy #highanklesprain #anklesprain

18.01.2022 The piriformis muscle is found deep in your buttock and when it gets tight can lead to pressure on the sciatic nerve (which runs down the back of your thigh). Try this stretch for size: 1. Lie on your back with one knee pulled up to your chest 2. Draw the knee across the body towards the opposite shoulder 3. To add in a gentle spine stretch, allow the hips to move, gently twisting through the spine... 4. Hold the stretch for 45-60 seconds 5. Relax and repeat 3-5 times, making sure to do both sides #physio #physiotherapy #piriformisstretch #piriformis #physiotherapyforwomen #physioforwomen #women #prenatal #postnatal #Lockleys #physiolockleys
