12.01.2022 Pain under your knee cap when training? It could be the patella tendon! Follow these 3 simple tips to fix your patella tendon pain! . 1 Experiencing mild pain during exercise is safe and often good at improving the strength and tolerance of the tendon. Important thing is that you don't want lingering pain after training or the following day. If you experience this, you pushed too hard .... 2 Completing one exercise that is heavy and done with slow tempo every second day will improve your pain. An example of this is a seated leg extension - 4 sets of 8 reps with a 3s up: 3s down tempo. We want mild pain during but not after . 3 Stay out of tendon compression. This means not going into movements with weight where the knee is bent all the way e.g. very deep squats. Over time the goal is to work back to this but initially the tendon cannot tolerate this and will let you know about it with pain! . Tag or share with someone you know who is experiencing patella tendon pain to help them back to full training, pain free! . #physioquest #physiotherapy #physio #sports #returntosport #rehab #kneepain #jumpersknee #powerlifting #strongman See more

09.01.2022 How do I know if I should continue this exercise if its giving me pain? A question asked by everyone at some point during exercise . The traffic light system is always a great guidelines for understanding what is safe pain during training . High levels of pain and lots of lingering pain post training is a sign that your body isn't ready for the exercise you just did and should seek help from your coach / health professional... . Proceed with caution - if you get moderate levels of pain then try different variations or changing variables. This includes thinfs like reducing weight or trying a variation of the exercise. If it doesn't improve then move on from this exercise . Continue - if there is mild or no pain and your pain isn't worse when you finish training then it is safe to continue with these exercises . It is important to continue moving when you have an injury and using the traffic light is great to follow. . If you do have uncertainty about the severity of your injury then always seek help from your Physio . #physioquest #physiotherapy #physio #sports #returntosport #rehab #lowerback #pain #powerlifting #strongman See more
