20.01.2022 This is gold - the theme of Game of Thrones recreated on a bunch of electronic devices. The composer used his software skills to change the vibration output of the devices to create different pitches, and this is the glorious result. The things you come across on Youtube!

Never fear though, online piano teacher Barbara is here with a new blog post that outlines what you need to set up for your lessons.

08.01.2022 Up nice and early for day 2 of #pianopivotlive. Day 1 was so great, was lovely meeting so many teachers from around Australia and beyond!!
08.01.2022 This is not just true for jazz tunes. Sometimes we need to be able to be satisfied with good enough when were working on classical repertoire too. Its so easy to fall into the trap of perfection - particularly with classical repertoire as so many are under the impression that you either play it perfectly or not at all. This is crazy! The problem when you have to perfect every single piece in your piano career is that it may stop you progressing because you spend ages and... ages perfecting one piece, when you could have learned a huge variety of repertoire and have had the experience of playing so many more syles and techniques. My personal rule of thumb is: I only perfect the pieces that after determined, detailed practice still excite me. If I feel my interest in a piece wanes before its even at 60 or 70% then it means I wont have the stamina to learn it to 99%.
08.01.2022 My pro tip for the week: Learn more easy repertoire alongside your harder stuff! I really recommend students, once they get to the intermediate and advanced stages, to look BACK as much as they look forward. Find out why I believe this is crucial to your development as a pianist in this weeks blog post!
06.01.2022 Wishing everyone a spectacular, but above all, musical 2020!!
