He is currently exploring more environmentally friendly lead re-use avenues such as fishing sinkers and in boat hulls #pianosrecycled #leadrecycling

21.01.2022 Attention Everyone: Our warehouse is now so full of pianos that the only way you can play them is by lying on top of them. We are closing the books on pickups of old pianos unless you would like a transformation into something new again.
21.01.2022 We featured on the front page of this month's The Junk Map Newsletter https://pixiepuzzle.activehosted.com/index.php
19.01.2022 This Stroud piano had about 4.5kg of lead contained in its keys. We are now looking at how best to recover and reuse or recycle the lead weights, so that the lead doesn't end up buried in landfill and potentially released into the environment through leachate. Some options being explored range from Victorian bullet manufacturers to re-smelting through our local metals recycler. Good work Clancy

16.01.2022 When a piano is no longer useful, most of its materials end up in landfill. Pianos Recycled in Melbourne has been working hard to change this story by repurposi...ng generations of musical heirlooms into artisan timber sales, furniture and jewellery. 14.01.2022 As a recycler (of pianos) over the last 5 years, here is what we have learnt about Recycling in general: 1. A used item has its highest recycled value, and usually only makes economic sense, when retained in that form eg a glass beer bottle returned to brewery for cleaning and refilling, or a piano restored to a piano. 2. Markets do not currently exist for recycled products- almost everyone still wants to buy brand new. 3.Governments do not even have Sustainable Procurem...ent Policies requiring themselves to purchase Recycled Products. 4.There is no government financial support available at Local, State or Federal level for small recyclers. It makes operating in this space extremely difficult. See more
