20.01.2022 Somewhere between their regular commitments, 3 members of our PICAL family; Treasurer Steve Davie, Chairperson Jeff Floyd, and Centre Manager Greg Thompson are also on the committee of Growing Cambodia" an international charity based right here on Phillip Island. Growing Cambodias purpose is to encourage a better and more sustainable quality of life for young rural Cambodians through education and the enhancement of health and well-being. In normal times, our community sup...ports the charity by raising funds locally through a range of different activities including the very popular Annual Trivia Night. Unfortunately with COVID-19, it has been impossible to raise funds through these means. However, the schools and teachers supported by Growing Cambodia, whilst dealing with their own COVID-19 challenges, have found a way to continue the delivery of English language lessons, despite all the obstacles. Growing Cambodia Manager and Teacher Sopheak Play, describes the importance of the project to his young students; "They are free now to walk on the path of their own and they have the ability to use English to change their life." You can find out more about the charity at www.growingcambodia.org.au or follow their page at www.facebook.com/GrowingCambodia If you have the means, please consider donating to this wonderful project. ALL funds raised go directly towards the Growing Cambodia projects. See more
