15.01.2022 As you can see @KariDidi and I are very excited about the shiny lustre of gold on these tiles; about as excited as we are for what we have affectionately nickna...med The Kissing Project - a life size representation of Gustav Klimt’s painting The Kiss which we intend to create in ceramic and glass. A few months ago, when lockdown gave us more time, we decided to embrace, some might say risk. sharing in a creative collaboration. Could we transfer our loving and laughing together into an artistic project? Could the ceramicist making tiles handle the mosaicist breaking them?? So far so good. A lot has unfolded already. The studio is full of laughs and excited discussions about representations of colour and experiments with metallic glaze surfaces. There’s a new kiln in the pottery and a slab roller in the studio. It’s big, it’s going to have shitloads of real gold in it, so it’s going to cost. It’ll stretch our skills and we might encounter some highs and lows along the way. We’re thinking it’ll take a year part-time for both of us. We love this picture, we love the project. But TODAY we’re just excited about the GOLD. Excitement disease prevails!!

Thank you Sarah for supporti...ng local artists in your cafe. For Valentine's Day I have placed some heart jewellery in the window. Pieces of My Heart may have been a conceptual exhibition of work. And the signature piece sold for $900. But you too can take a piece of my heart. Also emerging from that body of work were some simple ceramic pieces that have become sweet jewellery.
