03.01.2022 Crikey, I reckon this has been the slowest start to a growing season, I have ever experienced! I started germinating in early August & ended up with over 2000 s...eedlings (102 varieties) in 75mm tubes. But hell, the growth has been so slow due to constant cool days. I am foliar & liquid fertilizing, trying to get some growth happening. Despite my efforts, cool cloudy weather continues to frustrate! Adding to my woes, has been fungus gnats. They are really bad this season & I have intalled 6 sticky traps in each polytunnel. On a more positive note, the superhots & Rocoto's that I managed to overwinter are going nuts! This is the first time I have managed to overwinter chillies in Tassie! The Dorset Naga regrowth has been unreal & it is producing stacks of flowers. The cutting grown Major Pain x Yaki Blue plants are looking stunning. My favorite plant from last season lives on! Today, here in Launceston, Tasmania, the maximum temperature was a horrid 11.4 degrees. I did not see the sun all day & constant rain prevented any work outside. So I cracked it & spent the day packaging my new batch of flakes & powders. Parked myself in the chilli shed, cracked a can, cranked up the tunes & got stuck in. Pretty damn happy with the look & the "grunt" of this new psychotically hot blend of superhots! There are 53 different superhot varieties in my latest mixes, as per the attached info! The mixed chilli flakes are utterly stunning & the most beautiful I have ever produced or seen! But don't let the prettiness decieve you, as they are searingly hot! If anyone is interested in my products or premium chilli seeds, please PM me. I can do some great package deals of products & seeds, which would make an awesome Christmas gift for a mate or loved one!
