24.01.2022 Were you lucky enough to get a piece of this cake last year? This Saturday, we’ll be celebrating our second birthday here on Facebook, so stay tuned for how you can be a part of the fun.

23.01.2022 As we head for weekend 8 without parkrun, we take comfort in these wise words from parkrun founder, Paul Sinton-Hewitt.

23.01.2022 How cool is this!

22.01.2022 A moving and important message from our parkrun founder.

22.01.2022 No matter how long it takes, our sponsors will be waiting for us. That’s the parkrun family spirit.

20.01.2022 It’s great to see a couple of our parkrunners logging their (not)parkrun stats but we would be thrilled to see lots more of our regulars getting out and running or walking 5km each week while we wait for parkrun to get back to normal. You can run or walk anywhere, on any day, and log it as a (not)parkrun through your normal parkrun log in. Shout out if you need help. I got mine done at beautiful Thirlmere Lakes. Slow and steady as I recover from injury. Where did you run or walk this weekend? Cheers, Sam

18.01.2022 Great news! The Council has withdrawn its decision to close the bike track. Making sure to follow social distancing and total number rules, you can walk and run on the parkrun course if you are local. What a relief. EDIT: Please remember, parkrun has asked that people stay away from any parkrun course on Saturday mornings at 8am as all parkruns in the world are cancelled until at least the end of April.

18.01.2022 Thanks, Marlene

17.01.2022 Thank you x 3, Marlene

17.01.2022 Hello parkrunners. Sam, your Communications Person here. How’s week three of #noparkrun going for you? I’ve been running 5km at home each week and today I ran my best time in months! What have you been doing? Share your running (social distancing, stay at home) adventures in the comments.

16.01.2022 IMPORTANT INFORMATION Matt Gould has confirmed that the closure of council outdoor areas INCLUDES Picton bike track. Please DO NOT go to the parkrun course for your exercise this weekend. ... Do get out and move, it’s important for your physical and mental wellbeing, but don’t head for Council spaces, including our course. We miss you all, but we will be back and the more we isolate, the sooner that will be.

16.01.2022 Share your #notparkrun for this weekend in the comments.

16.01.2022 We are so excited for Tasmania. And we can’t wait to get the good news for NSW as well. Have you missed your parkrun fix? Will you help us fill the volunteer roster when the time comes? We miss you all so much.

16.01.2022 To all of the mums, stepmums, mums-to-be, grandmas and nans in the Picton parkrun family - Happy Mother’s Day.

14.01.2022 Every week without a parkrun brings us one week closer to being back at parkrun. Happy Easter from the parkrun team to our parkrun family. We miss you. Happy running, walking and egg hunting.

12.01.2022 We love this advice from our friends at Mount Barker parkrun. https://www.facebook.com/659186114123721/posts/3819482954760672/?vh=e

12.01.2022 After two years of parkrun, we have hundreds of photo memories and these are some of our favourites. Tag yourself, tag your friends, then add your own birthday present to our parkrun family by sharing your happy Picton parkrun photo memories in the comments.

12.01.2022 It’s National Volunteer Week At parkrun we are grateful that volunteers provide us the opportunity to hold an event each and every week. This is Robin Rishworth, he has run 143 times and volunteered at 61 different parkruns in Australia so far. He travelled 800 kms from his home in Victoria to run and volunteer at our Parkrun. Robin has a long history of running. He completed numerous marathons and half marathons (his best time is around 66 minutes) and won the Empire Stat...e Building Run-Up in 1989. Robin really liked our course because it is slightly down hill and faster on the way back. Thanks for visiting and volunteering, Robin. We are looking forward to seeing our volunteers tomorrow morning See more

07.01.2022 Do you get all your parkrun news in your email inbox each week? Make sure you turn on email notifications in your profile on the parkrun website so you don’t miss out! And LOOK! This week’s useless random stat includes us!!! Picton parkrun is one of the 14 events in the world that starts with a P and ends with an N. Woo hoo!

06.01.2022 We can’t meet up this weekend. We won’t be together for coffee. But let’s have a virtual gathering in the comments on this post. Run or walk your 5km on the treadmill, in your street, around your neighbourhood. Share your time and a running selfie here. Then, show us your post run coffee at home. Isn’t the coffee the best bit? Join us here, in the virtual parkrun thread, any time over the weekend. Let’s gather a different way while we wait for this storm to pass.

05.01.2022 Huge congratulations to our regular pacer, Skipp, who achieved the absolutely astonishing feat of: UTA11 UTA22 and UTA100 ... The whole Picton parkrun family is so proud of you, Skipp. Who else headed to the Blue Mountains this weekend??? Show us your bling in the comments! See more
