02.01.2022 As a piercer, we are always letting our clients know that is is not ok to touch your fresh piercing. To always wash your hands prior to cleaning. The main pathogenic bacteria which are more likely to be found on the hands are STAPHYLOCOCCUS, CORYNEBACTERIA, STREPTOCOCCUS, E COLI, MYOBACTERIA AND HAEMOPHILUS. They are found in different concentrations and are also commonly found on other parts of the body like the nose and mouth area. This is why it is so important to not touch, pick or play with your fresh piercings. Listen to your piercer and follow the aftercare instructions you have been given.
