24.01.2022 The Australian Institute of Architects has shortlisted VIEW Rockdale for the 2021 NSW Architecture Awards in the Residential Architecture Multiple Housing Category. VIEW was conceived as a design excellence competition for a mixed-use tower within the Rockdale Town Centre. It aimed to encapsulate and extend the area’s vibrant character and present an iconic form, the ambitions of its future character. At the heart of the development is an open breezeway, which ...unites the towers. This planning strategy maximises the quantum of north-facing apartments for optimum orientation and amenity, allowing the building to breathe while capturing distant city views. The breezeway is veiled with a metallic golden screen derived from the organic lines of neighbouring Botany Bay.
