20.01.2022 There's never been a better time to realise that 1. One person can make a difference 2. That walking out of a job you conscientiously object to is the moral thing to do (newscorp) - here is a link to a film to show you how to do it - pls share. https://www.docplay.com//the-dalfram-dispute-1938--pig-iro

15.01.2022 If things go sour and supply somehow fails - we know that in 1938 it was done and in the Illawarra we can do it again. Rabbiting parties, fishing parties, sharing food and taking care of those most vulnerable, stopping evictions. What must be done I have no doubt can be done in the Illawarra. Perhaps it’s time to reimagine the kind of society we want going forward.

14.01.2022 Some interviews change your life forever. Remembering the interview with Tom Uren RIP. His love for peace and his love for love was contagious and changed the course of this film for the better. Very grateful to have met him.

13.01.2022 This year will mark 80 years since the action of the Dalfram dispute where the community of Wollongong supported the wharfies who had stopped sending war materials by refusing to load the ships... have you watched the film yet???

10.01.2022 FOR FREE - as the Ruby Princess shined the spotlight on the Illawarra and Port Kembla, we are reminded of the time in 1938 when the Illawarra was again standing up for others.

09.01.2022 You can now watch the Dalfram Dispute 1938: Pig Iron bob film here https://vimeo.com/ondemand/133657

08.01.2022 In two days it will be 80 years since the men decided to walk off the Dalfram - And it’s affected hundreds of lives since, changed the course of international foreign policy, brought solidarity to the area and provided an authentic link between the Chinese people and those of Port Kembla/wollongong. For peace is why I feel the action was brought about by the everyday people and the community and those from Australia who sent in funds. It certainly changed my perspective producing the film. And those horrible acts of war on innocent civilians in the Rape of Nanjing must never be forgotten so they will never be repeated.

06.01.2022 80 years today! An important history in solidarity...

03.01.2022 Today marks the 80th anniversary....

03.01.2022 For the next 30 days you can watch the Pig Iron Bob film free... watch it while you can, you might learn something and why PEACE is so important and why it's the the thing worth working towards in our daily lives. I salute those men and women, proud to be part of the Illawarra community who stem from this history and who withstood great pressure to load and stayed strong for as long as they could, with hunger being the thing that made them load. Even at the last vote it was not unanimous, but they loaded because they had to...

03.01.2022 The Owen Gun was much praised by the men who used them, with one man saying he slept with it under his pillow, it was used in WWII and is largely credited for h...olding back enemy troops as the gun overcame the issues that occurred when operating in mud and water. It was an invention by Eveyln Owen who lived in the Illawarra. Everyone should know the history of their local communities and we need to pass them on for students and the next generations.
