25.01.2022 May the 4th be with you.

19.01.2022 Hi guys, please take a moment to listen to a personal friend of ours (John Grimshaw from Stage Fast), as he shares his personal story. It's poignant, heartfelt and, sadly, one of many out there in this forgotten industry of entertainment. Thanks x

14.01.2022 UPDATE:- THIS BLOODY COUNCIL!!! (Wingecarribee Shire Council) HEARTBREAKING!!!!

14.01.2022 OK folks, time to send out an SOS to help a theatre company. Our friends, So Popera Productions, down the hill in the Illawarra, are asking for help. This incredibly exciting company is run by a family of super-humans. The Copelands (Mal, Donna, Peter & Amy) Good people. The hardest workers in the freakin' room! Before COVID-19 hit, they were in pre-production for 'GREASE' and then boom! The whole entertainment industry stopped dead overnight. Okay, so here's the deal... Thes...e folks are personal friends of ours, and need to raise some coin to to allow them to cover costs for their headquarters, where they store all of their costumes, props and set pieces with creative new stage elements that will feature in So Popera's upcoming production of 'Grease'. Click the link/photo below and donate straight away. So Popera is a not for profit group who produce the best non-professional theatre we've ever seen... and we've seen a lot! Pigs Fly don't normally post stuff like this BUT, it's all about family, friends, community and us theatre folks stick together! PLEASE DONATE NOW... Lou Vella President

13.01.2022 CHOOKAS to Highlands Theatre Group for their opening night of 'Love Letters'. Congratulations for being the first to bring back theatre to the Southern Highlands... safely. Have a great season!

11.01.2022 Good evening Piglets. Our friends at Melting Pot Theatre, Bundanoon, are trying to cast one of the roles in this online round of Crash Test Drama. They are looking for a young male actor. They could be anywhere from 17-35 years old. The play deals with very contemporary issues of race and police shootings in America. Due to the way this script is written, and the fact the director is quarantined elsewhere, it would be recorded via Zoom. So, the actor just needs to have a good... internet connection. In the heats, all Crash Test plays can be done with scripts in hand and are limited to 10 minutes each. If you’re interested, you have until Wednesday midday to drop your details in the comments section below or shoot us a PM and we’ll get the Convener of Melting Pot Theatre (Bron Beard) to contact you directly. Thank you for your help.

09.01.2022 Our friends at Furey Theatre Company are mounting a production of ‘MAMMA MIA’ in December. The company has a COVID-19 Safety Plan and adhere to all Government guidelines. Bookings are now open!

09.01.2022 This is insulting. Small? No post-school qualifications? Have a think about this statement from this government website. Perhaps NIDA, WAPPA, AFTRS, film, acting and radio/voiceover schools and universities don’t count as post school qualifications? The collective bile is rising in the back of our creative and artistic throats!

03.01.2022 Hey piglets! We need the media, far and wide, to get on board with Craig Robson and Fairground Follies because a local Southern Highlands icon needs HELP!!! Hidden away, in Bowral, down a driveway and out the back in a huge shed is a unique musical fairground surrounded by a 100 year old carousel, thousands of fairy lights, dance hall organs, violin playing machines, and more. 'Like' them on Facebook and LOOK at the amazing photos!!! The local Council is making it very hard f...or this incredible and private exhibition to open to the public. The interest to view this exhibition is not only nationally but internationally too. The tourist dollars that would come into this area would be a much needed injection right now. Have a read of the post and if you can help to get media outlets involved, and get this annoying Wingecarribee Council to forget their own self importance and make things a bit bloody easier for the 'creatives' in the area (the Highlands area is FILLED with them), then please contact Craig Robson at [email protected] or 0419 866 855.
