24.01.2022 SKIPPING - If youve got a skipping rope in the cupboard get it out!!! Skipping is a fantastic exercise for elevating the heart rate and building your cardio endurance. Skip for 2 minutes as a warm up Repeat the next set 5 times - 30 seconds easy, 60 seconds maximum speed, 30 seconds easy... 19.01.2022 RESPIRATORY SUPPORT SMOOTHIE - With the pilates studio closed I have found myself watching more tv in the past 3 weeks than I have watched in the past 6 months...yikes!!! Can someone try this smoothie that The Morning Shows nutritionist Sarah Di Lorenzo recommended and let me know what it tastes like!!! 19.01.2022 WORKING FROM HOME - We quite often dont have the correct ergonomic set up when we are working from home so here are 3 great stretches you can do to stop the slouching forward action. 1. Hip Flexor Stretch (kneel on the floor and extend the right foot out so your heel is directly under your knee. Push the hips forward so you feel the stretch through the front of the left hip) 2. Cobra Stretch (lay on your stomach, place your hands next to your shoulders and lift your upper ...body off the floor. You will open out the chest and stretch through the back) 3. Foam Roller Stretch (place the foam roller on the floor, lay on your back on the roller with it down the length of your spine. Open the arms to the side of the body or behind the head to increase the stretch).

16.01.2022 LEARN TO RUN - If you are looking to start a running program as a form of exercise during iso then here are a few tips!! Always warm up with 5 minutes of walking and some lower body stretches before starting. Start by jogging for 1 minute and walking for 1 minute and gradually increase this to jogging for 2 minutes and walking for 1 minute, jogging for 3 minutes and walking for 1 minute and so on...... Try to aim for 20 minutes at the beginning and increase up to 40 minutes over time

12.01.2022 WATER-TO-ALCOHOL - Hands up if being stuck indoors has led to a few sneaky extra glasses of wine each night! Im exactly the same so no judgement here!!! Try to limit your alcohol to just the weekend if you can. Consuming alcohol increases fat accumulation, the risk of type 2 diabetes and elevated cholesterol. Also make sure you have at least 2L of water daily. If you need to make it not such a chore to drink your water, then add some lemon for a little extra taste sensation.

08.01.2022 UPDATE - Great news from the Queensland Government yesterday in that we can reopen the studio a little earlier than expected. We still need to get our reformers back and do the required clean of the machines prior to being able to open. We also need to check and make sure our staff are available to start a week earlier We will keep you updated on a new reopening date. In the interim period, keep booking in your classes for the week commencing 13 June!!!... Thank you so much for your continuing support of the studio and well see you again really soon!!!

07.01.2022 MEAL PLAN - Youre not alone in saying that being in isolation has resulted in a few extra kilos around the waistline because we no longer have our normal routine. Set aside 15 minutes each Sunday morning to plan your meals for the week. Stick to 3 meals per day ensuring each meal has a serve of protein. If you need a snack in between your meals, have a handful of mixed nuts, a piece of fruit or some rice cakes with avocado, lemon juice and salt and pepper.... Not only will you help your waistline but youll also save money on your grocery bill

04.01.2022 IMPRINTED SPINE - When doing your online mat Pilates classes make sure you maintain your imprinted spine during all your abdominal exercises. Use the abdominal muscles to draw the back of the rib cage and lower back slightly towards the floor. Keep your bottom and tailbone on the floor to help protect your lower back and well see you back in the studio again really soon
