18.01.2022 This morning walking through QVB to go back to the Pilates studio, one of the escalators wasn't working. No big deal you would think, for most yes. But then I saw these ladies probably mid sixties and one of them had so much trouble getting down these few steps. These reminded me once more of the importance of exercising at all age and of the key role health and fitness professionals play in people's life. Being fit and healthy is not always about smashing it at the gym or be...ing picture perfect. What really matters is movement. I am so glad I can teach people from all walk of life to simply move better and get stronger at their own pace so they don't have to think about it twice; if the escalator is broken, they can just take the stairs. With all of that in mind I filmed standing footwork on the chair which is a wonderful exercise to work on balance and has so many regressions and progressions depending on level. You will notice I didn't cut the clumsy dismount lol the last variation is what I personally need to work on to get more foot and ankle strength #wundachair #balance #movementislife #exerciseisforeveryone

12.01.2022 Over the past 6 weeks I have taken an anatomy course online to refresh and further my knowledge. I am a movement nerd and found it fascinating. My favourite parts were "How to target muscles" and "Hip joint shape, finding your ideal squat stance". It really helped me experiencing new ways to cue during exercises and get muscles working hard, even without weights or access to machines.... And the hip joint shape session was a fantastic reminder that there is not 1 ideal way to squat, you need to find yours, experiment and get advice from fitness professionals to improve if needed. Starting the next lot of 6 weeks this Saturday, very excited #knowledgeispower #movementnerd #pilates #anatomycourse #humanbodiesarefascinating
