Thought I would take a seat through this series as often I tell clients to sit this way if they have knee injuries/ issues but it occurred to me that that I've never tried it myself Anyway, its harder than I thought it would be ~ I felt that the obliques and core had to work much harder than when I'm kneeling .. . 24.01.2022 WOW!!! Absolutely blown away by the Pilates content I can find on IG when aimlessly scrolling through .. I just had to try this seated, single arm pull/row straight away when I saw Korin from @korinnolanpilates do this .. So cool! hahaha.. the things that get me excited these days- Pilates moves.. 16.01.2022 I've been sooooo keen to try this thread the needle version for bridge work on the reformer ever since @korinnolanpilates had me do this in one of her mat classes we did together .. Thanks hun, loved it!! I finally remembered and here it is.. I'm using one heavy and one medium spring and boy was it difficult to keep the carriage still throughout the series .. 08.01.2022 Unilateral movement to strengthen this much weaker left side.. *** Why do unilateral exercises? ( the active training of one side of the body than say a bilateral exercise - the Squat...) To balance out the body uniformly and fix muscular imbalances... We all tend to favour one side or be more dominate on one side and when doing bilateral exercises, we may not notice these differences. Also, by working only the one limb/side at a time, we force our midline into deep stab...ilization to help keep our balance so.. CORE= winning . *** There's lots of benefits to unilateral exercises but these are 2 of my Fav's and why I love doing and teaching these types of movements.. 07.01.2022 SPINE EXTENSION Using the pilates ball/ AKA the blue squishy ball of death propped under the chest, is such a great way to assist the chest lift when working the back line with the straps !! WOW!! Feeling like superwoman now~ Loved it!! Give it a go if you feel you also might need a little added help with extension due to stiff backs, weaker back line muscles or glutes not engaging.. As such, im only using a medium spring, working slowly to ensure breath to movement happe...ns and only completing 4 reps in each position ..
