This recipe is even simpler with fewer ingredients, and has no added oil. .... It is low carb, vegan, sugar free and gluten free. . . Ingredients: 1/2 cup of Almond or other nut butter Juice of one lemon 1/4 cup of erythritol 1 cup of almond flour 2 big handfuls of coconut flakes 10 drops of sorters lemon oil (optional) . . 17.01.2022 Breakfast is the most important meal of the day right? Or is it not? Should we be skipping breakfast and practicing intermittent fasting? . . The answer to this question is not so straight forward. We all have different physiologies and therefore different responses to intermittent fasting. .... . Our response to intermittent fasting depends a lot on our hormones, particularly sex hormones, stress hormones and insulin. . . Unfortunately I often see females of fertile age mess up their sex hormones by intermittent fasting. This is because it takes a lot of energy to make a baby. So if the body gets the signal that there is not enough food around (I.e if you are starving yourself) then your body goes into energy reservation mode and whoops there goes your period. With that said some women seem to do great on intermittent fasting, particularly post menopausal women. . . I commonly find men are not so negatively affected by intermittent fasting, as their hormonal system isnt as delicate as us women. . . There is also lots of evidence to support intermittent fasting for longevity. . . So what do I recommend? I believe women of fertile age should eat breakfast, but keep your eating window to 12 hours a day, so that you are also not eating for 12 hours. 15.01.2022 What do you see when you look at this photo? . . Maybe you notice my smile (one of the few photos where Im smiling well) or maybe you see what I initially did, back rolls .... . But then I remembered that back rolls are completely normal and healthy for females. A healthy body fat percentage for females is between 20% and 30% ( I sit around 20-23%), and that 20 something percent fat has to sit somewhere. A body fat percentage in females below 20% risks disrupting hormone balance and loss of period, and in many cases is not healthy. . . So when you see a small fat roll, and you know you have a healthy Weight range, instead of judging yourself, try loving yourself. And remember, if you have a healthy weight then you dont need to starve yourself! . . Positives : Coffee is packed with great polyphenols that feed good gut bacteria. In fact a study showed that those who drunk regular coffee had more Bacteroides bacteria than Firmicutes. Higher Bacteroides:Firmicutes ratio is found in slim, healthy individuals, and a low ratio is related to obesity and diabetes. So coffee could help you maintain a healthy body weight through the effects on the microbiome. . . Negative: Caffeine, when consumed in large amounts, can become addictive and actually add stress to the brain and body. Excess stress can lead to inflammation, and inflammation can negatively affect the body and microbiome. . . The answer: Enjoy your coffee, but be aware if you are become over-reliant on it. If you are feeling like you have to have a coffee to wake up in the morning then it might be a good time to try giving coffee up for 2 weeks. After 2 weeks re-introduce it as a mid morning treat - not as a drug used to help you function. . . Personally I love coffee! I love the taste and how it makes me feel. But I know if I am becoming reliant on caffeine then I give myself a little break.
