Straight Leg Raise (30) Single Leg Circle (10 each direction) Side-lying Scissors (20) Double Leg Lift (20) Inner Thigh Lift (20) Inner Thigh Circle (10 each direction) Repeat on Left side. Dont forget to give yourself a nice glute stretch at the end!

In all seriousness: I communicated with my clients in advance of this mornings Total Barre class that we would be kicking our cleaning practices into high gear - and that meant not just me cleaning equipment but everyone would clean what they used. Nobody scoffed, everyone was quite enthusiastic. A great bonding experience in a time of chaos and uncertainty!

10.01.2022 One of the things Im proudest of in 2019 is what I was able to contribute to raising awareness of ALS / MND. Its a horrible disease. It doesnt discriminate: young, old; fit, unfit. There is no cure but thanks to people like this man, there is now more money for research and treatment. And certainly more awareness of both the disease and the need to find a cure for it. Thank you again to those who donated to my fundraising efforts or, better yet, joined me for a class to move for MND.

05.01.2022 Should you remain active during pregnancy? Yes. Can you do Barre if youre pregnant? Also yes! Meet Kasie - an avid fan of the Barre and generally staying active all throughout her pregnancy! This photo was taken after our last class of the spring programme. Kasie was 36 weeks pregnant! 36 WEEKS. ... Did we modify certain elements of the class for her? Of course. Did she have to slow down a little as her pregnancy advanced? Yes. DID SHE GIVE THE OTHER LADIES IN THE CLASS A RUN FOR THEIR MONEY? Yes!!! I would often point out that the only person in class who had a valid reason for not having their leg as high or not pushing themselves as hard was Kasie, and that was great motivation for everyone! It also reminded me of what great shape Kasie was in and of the power of consistency. This was the second time I taught Kasie classes during a pregnancy. She generally felt well and loved the stretching more than anything. If youre hesitating to keep active while pregnant, get in touch to discuss your options! And CONGRATULATIONS to Kasie and her family on the birth of her healthy little girl last week from everyone at Pilates with Deirdra.
04.01.2022 So chuffed to receive this thank you gift from a group of colleagues today. The thank you was for taking them through lunch hour pilates classes over the last couple of months. I’m just so happy to be teaching people again! I hadn’t taught since my last class in the Hunter Valley in March. ... I don’t do it for the recognition. I do it to help people. I do it because I enjoy it. And I do it because it gives me a mental break as well. #gratitude
