25.01.2022 Anyone else ever taken the kids to school three days before term starts by accident? I'm telling myself it's a rite of passage for the busy parent! 'Cause I did.

25.01.2022 A read, a tickle, a cyclone, a good chance to...mow the lawn???!

25.01.2022 A big hurrah to the Pilbara Poet's new fans! Hope you're having a fabulous morning. When I hit 100 likes, I offered the liker the chance to be a character in my next poem. So she unliked me she was so terrified! Hence, like 200 gets the privilege of me saying absolutely nothing about them in next week's poem! Unless they're up for the challenge...

24.01.2022 Christian Grey. Do I have your attention now? Find out what happens if you mix #50 Shades of Grey with the flu. Now we're talking.

23.01.2022 Ive just launched my brand new, fun and flippant language fails blog, "swallowing her words like water". Please visit whether youre a grammar nerd or not, and contribute if you like!

22.01.2022 Can't tell you how much I loved listening to Aboriginal elder Gladys Milroy read her poignant book "Dingo's Tree' about protecting the land from too much destruction. Listen to her - can't believe she's 82!

22.01.2022 This weekend, Ill be waxing pet poetic. Have you had any pet disasters at your place *rolls eyes*?

20.01.2022 The topic is pets. The travesty is great. How do yours compare?!

20.01.2022 Who fishes? Tips appreciated. My Pilbara Echo poem this week offers the reel truth on my own skills. Which, like the whale shark, are often elusive (not that I've ever caught one to know).

19.01.2022 "Miss Potters Poem" was a very special one to assist in writing. Port Hedland Primarys kindy kids wrote this poem for their very special teacher. Maybe you had one too? Thanks to Miss Sherri for all her wisdom too. And most of all, hugs to Miss Potter.

19.01.2022 Anyone think The Living End are The Living End? I catch up with them here.

17.01.2022 In a cafe and just overheard a lady gushing about a poem she read and stuck on her fridge. I thought, cool! Someone loves poetry! She said it was dedicated to pregnant women who hate ginger, at which point I realised she meant my poem 'The rise and hurl if the ginger Phoenix.' I grinned and told her it was me and we both cracked up. SO exciting to find other women who think ginger sucks when pregnant! Just like @danielle Aggiss and @Sarah Rutherford. :)

17.01.2022 It was a big, BIG, week for all things small. (Sorry Mr Cruise, had to be done).

17.01.2022 What one thinks of digital television depends not only on the size of one's tele, but the size of other things too... Here's this week's hot pink, snow free poem to tingle your bits.

16.01.2022 Rihanna, David Guetta or The Simpsons theme song - what music plays for you when youre a movie star in your own life?

15.01.2022 Just donated a poem in the name of... to the Soroptomists in Port Hedland for an upcoming Pilbara Echo. Will be fun to write something on someone special who's donated to their cause of Birthing in the Pacific.

15.01.2022 In five days I'm going to be a supermodel, thanks to Eco Beach Resort. In the meantime, I will simply eat.

14.01.2022 I am SO excited about the poem Ive just written for the upcoming Pilbara Echo. Busting out all over with this one. Literally. Its awesome to have those little moments where you look back at the page and wonder if, even in the next life, someone will decide youre a genius after all. sMALL chUCKLe.

14.01.2022 If you've ever been totally uncool and taken aback in rare moments of cool success, this poem's for you.

14.01.2022 The Pilbara Poet is back for 2013, tackling the embarrassing issues. Now, what do this chook and Lance Armstrong have in common? Find out this weekend...

13.01.2022 Love this shot doing the rounds taken at Manly Library. Listen out for Lance (the rooster) on ABC North West on Wednesday before 12!

13.01.2022 Would like to be skiing right now. The problem isn't the lack of snow here in the desert. It's just that we got rid of our snow chains last week.

12.01.2022 My designer gumboots might have come too late for cyclone Lua. I have a feeling Anna Bligh might have needed them more last weekend anyway. Here's my latest Pilbara Poet instalment for lovers of rains, gumbies and political drainage systems.

12.01.2022 Welcome to new friends! You rock. Heres my fun, few minutes a week failed language blog if you like a lingo laugh. Join the jibes for a jiggle or giggle. http://swallowingherwords.com/

11.01.2022 High viz and stilettos. NOW we're talking! Poem out this Sunday in the Pilbara Echo. Dedicated to Nur-Irdah Halik.

11.01.2022 A long time coming and hard to write. Not a poem, but a bitter self-truth.

11.01.2022 If youve ever been totally uncool and taken aback in rare moments of cool success, this poems for you.

11.01.2022 Text-speak. All power to you if you can understand what I've penned, 'cause I can't! It's also occurred to me that there must be text speak in many languages. So how do the Swiss translate RAOTFLMAO?

11.01.2022 Why did the chicken cross the road? To prove it wasn't a turkey (unlike Lance Armstrong, who just proved he is). #pilbarapoet13.

10.01.2022 Blogging for ABC Open and the topic thrust upon me was, "This is not my beautiful home". A little something to anyone who's ever been tempted by heat, red dirt and re-definition.

10.01.2022 Can you name a great B word that is somehow linked to the Worlds Greatest Shave? Eg. Bald. Well, thats a no brainier. Yes! Brain! Thoughts? Im ready to pen my next poem.

07.01.2022 Welcome to Sonnet Sunday! In 10 syllables, toss in your best rhyming couplet for this line: He handed me a bucket, mop and soap...
