14.01.2022 This article had been making the rounds. Have you read it? Do you agree that artists have a bigger role to play in healing this world than philosophers?

11.01.2022 Dear artists, you may remember the theme of this year's festival (23-26 July) is The Lord's Prayer. We've already received a number of amazing musical, literary, and visual submissions on our theme. I wanted to encourage those who still plan to submit. We warmly welcome reflections on the Biblical material and on the nature of prayer itself, both of which are fitting given the theme. At the same time, we also want to encourage and warmly welcome submissions that grapple with... the *concepts* that make up the heart of the prayer. For example, we'd also love submissions that wrestle with forgiveness, or temptation, or God's provision, or what it actually means for God's Kingdom to come. For a landscape artists, a reflection on God's provision could look like capturing the beauty of farm land or an orchard well-stewarded, or even just the over-abundance of God's provision somewhere in the natural world. A poet could likewise capture a family knowing the fullness of God's care in the provision of 'daily bread'. A musical piece could engage with evil. A fictional piece could imagine God's Kingdom breaking into this one. You get the idea. And you're more than welcome to submit existing works where they already fit the theme. But, don't dally. We've two weeks to go on the free submission deadline for adult works, and six weeks for submissions with a small fee. We'd love to have yours!

09.01.2022 One of our most popular exhibits at the 2019 Festival was this listening station where people of all ages were uplifted by an exquisite choral composition by Stephen Perks.

02.01.2022 Writers, authors, poets! Griffith Review 72: States of Mind is looking for submissions in the form of essays, reportage, creative non-fiction, fiction, visual essays and poetry that examine how we conceptualise our psychological, existential and political condition. Anxiety and depression are on the rise in Australia and across the globe; digital media has created a pandemic of loneliness and disconnection; ideological extremism is widening our divisions and threatening o...ur democracies; and all the while, the wellness industry is spinning everything from mindfulness to minimalism into big business...We’re looking for new work that responds to these ideas. https://griffithreview.submittable.com//griffith-review-72 Strangely, the link seems to work even though there’s an error message visible below. Closing date 15 December.
