25.01.2022 PCA Ground Engineering are completing the second stage of the historic Briner Bridge upgrade. After vibrating in the outer steel casings to depth in the upper sections of the piles, the same rig was then used to vibrate in the steel H Beams before swapping attachments to drive them to the required set. Utilising the one machine with multiple attachments to both vibrate and drive piles of various sizes and shapes provides efficiency gains through reduced mobilisation costs particularly on regional and remote sites.

16.01.2022 PCA Ground Engineering has been awarded the design and construction package for two piled shafts as part of the Grey Street Sewerage Upgrade project. The contiguous CFA piled shafts are temporary works for the 6m diameter wet well and 3m diameter grit chamber extending down 18m through saturated soft clays into the underlaying rock. Contiguous CFA piles were chosen due to the space restrictions on site which limited the piling rig size and ability to install a traditional sec...ant pile wall to full depth through the relatively hard rock below 10m depth. To prevent water ingress through the small gaps between the piles, PCA is using an innovative high pressure grouting system which will be installed between each of the contiguous CFA piles. 06.01.2022 Installation of timber driven piles is well underway on the Wilsons River Cycleway in Lismore. The tight site conditions directly adjacent to the river require the earth retention to be constructed ahead of the machine to enable the works to proceed safely. 01.01.2022 The Cairns PCA Ground Engineering team have been hard at work both night and day installing new micropile foundations for the Cairns Central Shopping Centre upgrade. Our specialist limited access rig with its variable mast height and adjustable width tracks has been crucial to the successful installation of grout injected micropiles that extend down to 23m deep through the soft alluvial soils beneath the floor of the existing shopping centre and carpark.
