17.01.2022 Someone once said to me "ordinary things can become quite extraordinary just by doing them with the right people". I would like to take this opportunity for a shout out to Paige Duggan who has been working with Pilkinton Productions for close to a decade I think! Well, we have just finished our seventh consecutive year of Ballarat Backyard Tasters, and we were "doing stuff" before that :) Although there's stress and ups and downs along the way to creating and delivering ev...ents and projects, the final results are fun! Paige brings so much invaluable knowledge of the live music scene (helped by being a legendary performer herself). Thanks to Sarah Barclay (@Floc) and @Gilbert Mukasa who were also on the team this year, and Jason from SLC - Sound & Light Concepts Pty Ltd, Ballarat who we have worked alongside across the past decade too. More pics of performers and audience to come. Thanks everyone- Friday night was such an excellent vibe! (thanks for taking this pic Belinda Coates - and for being such a smooth operator as MC). 16.01.2022 Admittedly, we don't post much these days - as Pilkinton Productions is focusing more on delivering training (intercultural competency, project and event management) and project management these days. Thanks for helping us reach 500 LIKES though!

04.01.2022 So, I don't really talk about the training work I do very often via social media - but I really should! It is truly one of my favourite things on the planet to do! This week I ran a training session for Leadership Ballarat & Western Region programme participants who are no doubt being challenged, encouraged, inspired and driven to go on to do greater things, create change in their workplaces, organisations and communities. What a crew! In my "Culture - what is it?" sessio...n we tried to define culture, our own culture.... multicultural V intercultural V CaLD , the cultural mix in our region, state and country. We took on a new identity for a while and tried to better understand discrimination, racism, privilege, inequality. We had great discussions and we experienced the power of Lived Experience stories through our panellists Joy, Sami and Vanessa. Thanks everyone! My next training gigs are Project and Event Management skills with City of Ballarat Youth Councillors (enquiries to [email protected] ) See more

01.01.2022 Attention music teachers (in schools, private tuition, franchises), choir leaders, community music leaders, aged care workers, cultural and community development practitioners, diverse ability community members, Aboriginal community members, musicians, culturally diverse community members....(is there anyone else!!!??), this is your chance to share ideas and suggestions around what you think could be done to grow and strengthen community music leadership in the Ballarat reg...ion. You will be asked to consider questions like how could money be best used if it was allocated to strengthen community music leadership in this region? or what might you need in terms of skill development?. Community Music Vic wants to re-establish a state-wide program that builds and supports community singing and music leadership across Victoria. The Helen MacPherson Smith Trust (HMST) has provided the financial resources to design a programme and to potentially fund the implementation of it. This will take place on Sunday August 11th at the Art Gallery of Ballarat. See below.
