19.01.2022 Congrats Pilliga peeps! 'Pilliga Rising' has been selected to screen in the Freeland Film Festival (Green Lake, Wisconsin). The fest will be taking place September 11-15. Freeland is a global story-telling fest that features films about people, wild animals, and ecosystems that are facing and overcoming daunting challenges. This year's festival will focus on films about trafficking and commercial exploitation, and their impacts on vulnerable communities, wild animals, and ec...osystems. Freeland is a frontline counter-trafficking organization working for a world that is free of wildlife trafficking and human slavery. Their team of law enforcement, development and communications specialists work alongside partners in Asia, Africa and the Americas to build capacity, raise awareness, strengthen networks and promote good governance to protect critical ecosystems and vulnerable people. We will also be doing a virtual Q&A on the Pilliga as well, so stay tuned for dates and times. Check em out! https://www.facebook.com/freelandfilmfest/ http://www.freelandfilmfest.org

15.01.2022 IT'S CRUNCH TIME TO PROTECT THE PILLIGA. SIGN THE PETITION. Write your own unique letter. Here's the Pilliga Rising letter. "The coal seam gas issues in the Pilliga forest of northwest New South Wales drill a hole in my heart. It’s the people of this region and their unique Australian outback lifestyle that reminds me of humanity’s best qualities.... The issues at stake are not pretty - how coal seam gas can destroy our food security, Indigenous culture, water and wildlife. If the Narrabri Gas Project is approved, anyone who resists will be forced to come face to face with law enforcement agencies. This is a travesty. 96% of the local community are opposed to coal seam gas in the area. Are you going to lock-up these people illegally for something they don't want? The people will not consent, and I believe you need the people's consent to move forward, otherwise you will be breaching human rights and all ministers will be put on notice for treasonous actions. That's not a threat, that's a fact. The people will always find freedom and save their land from being poisoned for industrial greed. Despite fearing the power of big business, we have found a voice among our communities and our own unique ways to lead the rise against coal seam gas." https://wilderness.good.do/PilligaCrun/NarrabriSubmission/

10.01.2022 Love this woman Anne Vanessa Kennedy. She and happy hubby have done so much for the Australian agricultural industry. How do we preserve these people?

08.01.2022 Pilliga Rising is part of this year's Freeland Film Festival 11-15 September. Freeland is working for a world that is free of wildlife trafficking and human slavery. Their team of law enforcement and development specialists work alongside partners in Asia, Africa and the Americas to build capacity, reduce demand, strengthen networks and promote good governance to protect critical ecosystems and vulnerable people. Nice to know they're also assisting to help protect the Pilliga region in NSW and the communities of people who live there. Thank you Freeland! Music credit : Yvon Mounier / Don Peyote recordings
