24.01.2022 And that was 2020. See you again on the other side folks. Thank-you to everyone who supported us, clients, family and friends, both old and new, through this most trying of years. 24.01.2022 We recently worked with Wadawurrung man and artist Billy-Jay O'Toole, the City of Greater Geelong and Quintessential Equity to create this informative video, highlighting and celebrating Geelong's new Civic Precinct, called Wurriki Nyal (WUU-ruh-kih nee-YAHL), meaning 'to speak and talk together' in Wadawurrung language. This time the little avatar that could has been given the honour of Highly Commended by the Judges at this year's Museums Australasia Multimedia & Publication Design Award for the Geelong Gallery digital tour guide app Meet Orby. Pillowfort, along with Hanalei Studios share this honour with our great collaborators at Geelong Gallery and are in the mix to deliver not just more mobile device options but a whole new set of paintings from the Gallery's collection for kids everywhere to experience. We'd like to thank all of the partners and sponsors who make Meet Orby possible with a huge thank you to the Helen Macpherson Smith Trust, for their support of this program.

PFC's own Stuart James Murray recently had some of his genius animated artwork featured in a very well known location in the USA, and we couldn't be prouder. The work, shown below, is the creation of long time collaborator and artist Dr. Debbie Symons (@debbiesymonsartist) who's amazing works, centred around the issue of climate change and our ecosystems, have been seen around the globe. This work titled The Butterfly Effect has m...ade it to Times Square, NYC. It is so amazing to see this work on the big screen especially when the research focus is one of the Earth's super tiny (0.2 to 0.4 mm) but vitally important mollusc species, the Limacina helicina Antarctica, or the sea butterfly, as it is more commonly known. This beautiful species is at the bottom of the oceanic food chain, and the work explores the effects of the changing ocean chemistry on them. It feels like a lifetime ago but this was one of a series of six posters designed for Surf Coast Shire in regards to people curbing their dogs, and the...unpleasantness...that can ensue when people don't. Was a fun brief (and clearly pre-COVID when people and animals could just wander about willy-nilly) :D

As you may or may not know, Pillowfort semi-recently worked on some visual effects for independent Australian film The Dustwalker and received a lovely Additional VFX credit for our efforts. We've since been told that it's now available on Amazon Prime, so if you have an account go and check it out. Pillowfort are looking for any local filmmakers in Geelong (or the Geelong region) to meet up with us today, at the Carousel on the waterfront, to be involved in a photoshoot to help @geelongwaterfrontfilm promote film making and filmmakers in our region. 03.01.2022 Pillowfort's @leighashleyryan, along with fellow collaborator, co-worker and filmmaker @ericditloff of @hellofriendmedia, was in the Geelong Indy today, holding up a lovely gift he received from his brother ages ago, known as a zoetrope, one of the earliest forms of a moving image, and in a way, the great great grandparent of modern cinema. Geelong Waterfront Film are really looking to invest in the region's film and television industry, and the potential of future grants to independent local, national and international filmmakers proposed by the fund is frankly genius!
