13.01.2022 As part of NAIDOC Week celebrations, Kindergarten A class read "Finding our heart" written by Thomas Mayor and Illustrated by Black Douglas. The illustrations were lovely and the children were excited to make their own creations. First Australians traditionally used the materials available to them for their art work, as a result we see a wide range of traditional Aboriginal art forms in different areas of Australia. As an extension to this, the children explored the garden to find materials that they can use to create their art. The art area was set up with natural materials that we had gathered from our garden, paper, paint and glue, we played some indigenous music in the background and encouraged the children to create their master pieces.
