25.01.2022 Remembering Our Founder - Today we remember our founder, Paul Ramsay, as 31 January was his birthday. He established Ramsay Health Care in 1964 and was known for his establishment of private hospitals, expanding regional television services, property development, and as a major benefactor to a range of educational, cultural, artistic and sporting organisations. Mr Ramsay was known by his close friends, family and people who have worked with him as a true gentleman and a humble but proud Australian.
25.01.2022 2020 International Year of the Nurse and Midwife Today we meet Cheryl who is part of our wonderful Pindara Maternity team What is your job title?... Registered Nurse/Midwife How long have you worked at Pindara? 13 years What is your favourite thing about being a nurse/midwife? As I do the ‘Know My Midwife’ clinic, I love being able to see families through pregnancy, birth and the first 6 weeks. What are you passionate about? I am passionate about being able to do things for others. This shows in the job that I have, but also in my private life. I will often go out of my way if someone important to me needs help. For those of you who know love languages, the way I display my love language is ‘Acts of Service’. An interesting fact about you that you don’t mind sharing? 8 years ago I was a surrogate mumma for a family who weren’t able to have their own baby. It was such an amazing experience to be able to help another family and give them a chance to complete their family. I still spend time with the family and just last week the bubba, who is nearly 8, called me her tummy mumma.

23.01.2022 2020 International Year of the Nurse and Midwife Today we meet Jessica who is part of our wonderful Pindara Maternity team Jessica commenced her health care career as a Student Endorsed Enrolled Nurse (EEN) and upon graduating was successful for a Graduate EEN position on the Maternity Ward at Pindara. After completing her graduate program, Jessica joined the Maternity team permanently. Jessica has found her passion for mums and bubs and is due to commence her midwifery stu...dies in February 2021. What is your job title? Endorsed Enrolled Nurse How long have you worked at Pindara? 16 months What is your favourite thing about being a nurse? Helping people at their most vulnerable hour. It’s a privilege to be trusted, in such intimate moments of people’s lives. What are you passionate about? I’m passionate about caring for mothers and their newborn babies. This has lead me to my career to become as a postnatal nurse. I’m commencing the bachelor of midwifery in February 2021, which I’m SO excited for. An interesting fact about you that you don’t mind sharing? After finishing high school (at 17 years old), I became an early childhood educator, specialling in the babies room caring for infants 6 weeks old to 18 months old. At 20 years old, Motherhood was calling; I had 3 babies in 3 years and stayed at home raising my beautiful children for 7 years. Once they began reaching school-age, I started my journey of study towards becoming a midwife, my ultimate goal.

16.01.2022 You are pure perfection baby Audrey Audrey couldn’t wait to meet her parents, so she decided to make an early and quick arrival at 34 weeks on the 03/09/2020. Mum Georgia and Dad Chris planned to have baby Audrey in their home state of Victoria in October 2020. However, due to COVID-19 restrictions and Chris’s Supercar championships commitments they decided to relocated to QLD so Chris could continue to drive in the Supercar series and be with his family.... Georgia came in for an appointment at 34 weeks under Dr. Andrew Cary, during the appointment Georgia was put on an CTG monitor, contractions started and 30 minutes late baby Audrey was welcomed into the world via an emergency C-section. Proud parents Georgia and Chris said ‘it hasn’t been an ideal situation, buts it’s been a blessing to be in QLD. Audrey has spent 1 month in the Special Care Nursery and the Pindara Maternity Team have gone over and above for us as first time parents. It wasn’t easy leaving Audrey in the Nursey, however the staff have been amazing and made this process a lot easier’. Our warmest congratulations to Georgia and Chris. Enjoy every magical moment as a family of 3 plus . Ps. Our CEO Mark would love Audrey to take him for a hot lap in the years ahead if she grows up choosing to follow in her Dad’s Supercar driving footsteps!

15.01.2022 As part of world prematurity day today, one of our Pindara Mums Theresa has shared a little bit about her experience as a mum of a premature baby and her experience at Pindara Private Maternity. Theresa was 30 weeks +4days, attending a standard appointment with Dr Moffrey on the 5/8/2020 when it was recorded that baby Logan’s heart rate had dropped significantly. Theresa was brought down to Pindara Maternity for further monitoring, when she was told that Logan’s heart rate ha...d dropped further and a decision was made to perform an emergency C-section. Within 13 minutes baby Logan was delivered and the Pindara Team performed resuscitation for 10 minutes. Every minute of those 13 minutes was absolutely precious and we couldn’t be more appreciative to the Pindara Team for their amazing care and quick response. Logan was transferred to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at GCUH for 10 days and then came back to Pindara for a further 38 days where he was cared for in the Special Care Nursery. Being a mum of a premature baby has a lot of extra challenges along the way like, feeding more regularly, staying in the new born phase for longer and smaller for longer (Logan is 15 weeks and wearing size 0000), but we are just so grateful to have Logan here with us. We were treated like family by Pindara and we received the most amazing care by the midwives, nurses, Anaesthetist, theatre team, Dr Moffrey and Dr Dylan Wilson. From the entire Pindara Team thank you for choosing us to care for you and baby Logan. We wish you both the very best. Ps. Testament to the lovely person Theresa is, she asked us to send on her apologies to the person whose elective operation was slightly delayed on the day of Theresa’s emergency C-section.
