17.01.2022 E i g h t Y e a r s ! Today was our 8 year wedding anniversary. Pretty hard to believe on this day 8 years ago we were living it up in NYC! We got married in Shakespeare’s Garden in the iconic Central Park. Seeing these pics makes me realise how big our world really is these days and how far away NYC seems now. I’ll never take overseas travel for granted again! It’s one of our fave places in the world to visit and I can’t wait to get back there once this whole global pandemic is over. In the meantime... 05.01.2022 B e K I N D Rant ahead! I wanted to address something that happened today because sadly it’s a common occurrence as a small business owner. Today I was publicly berated on my own instagram page by a STRANGER who accused me of copying another businesses’ product design and pretending it was my own. Firstly: The accusation was completely unfair and I would never plagiarise another persons product - in fact, I have experienced this so often myself that I’d never subject anot...her business to the same! I’ve had countless other businesses copy my product range, my logo, my packaging, my website - I even had one (not so intelligent) business cut and paste text from website complete with spelling mistakes! I’ve had people use my images to sell their products, I’ve had people on Facebook marketplace selling their knock-offs and claiming to be my products (when they’re clearly not)... I’ve seen and heard it all! Whilst I generally keep my mouth shut on this topic, today I woke up to see someone making public accusations on MY social media platforms about my integrity. Sorry, but that’s not Ok! if you think someone has taken something you’ve spent time, creativity and money on and had another business replicate it I totally get that you’d be angry. By all means, send a private message and ask the business to please explain! (Which the business owner did and we resolved it the issue amicably - kudos to them being professional enough to do this) I’ve never taken someone else’s design and claimed it to be my own. This goes against everything I believe in and it crushed me that someone who I don’t know thought they could come into my online community and accuse me of something I didn’t do. There is absolutely no good excuse for this type of bullying behaviour - I simply won’t tolerate it. For anyone else in this situation: Before making accusations that affect people’s livelihood and reputations, PLEASE speak to the person involved BEFORE you make comment.
