Our grants co-ordinator Brian Morris has been successful in securing a $10,000.00 "Organization hardship assistance grant" from Moreton Bay Regional Council. The grant money will be wisely dispensed as per grant guidelines, to help ensure payment of ongoing costs related to therunning of our Sports Club despite the doors being presently closed. Many thanks to BRIAN and of course MORETON BAY REGIONAL COUNCIL. The committee also send our love and best wishes in particular to our staff and also our members as we together , negotiate these trouble times.

23.01.2022 Good Evening All With these troubling times we want to make sure our Hornets family are kept up to date as possible. Some of you might have seen that Rugby Leag...ue Ipswich has advised all clubs to suspended all training until further notice. Rugby League Brisbane are having a board meeting tomorrow evening and they will be sorting out their position on what is happening. At this stage we are carrying on until we get more information from RLB. If you child is feeling unwell or has cold-like symptoms please do not allow them to train. More importantly if you have been sent for testing for COVID-19 please inform us as we need to keep QRL up-to-date with anything like that. Please bring a water bottle for your child as we have advised the coaches to keep the team water bottles at home We need to be extra vigilant at the moment. Any questions please let me know. Craig Secretary

Feel free to pop in for a cold beverage or 2 as this will help us get through these slower periods. Of course we will have all the NRL coverage as well so you don't miss out on all the action! please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you down at your club!
09.01.2022 Dear Hornets family We would like to pay our condolences to Kev Ralph's family on hearing the sad news of his passing. Kev was a founding member of our club and... was a chippy who did a lot of the work around the club back in the early days, mostly for free. He built a lot of the clubhouse and various extensions. One of our junior mini fields is named after Kev due to his tireless efforts in helping the club get established and without people like Kev we wouldn't have the club that we do. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time. See more

08.01.2022 Last night we were honoured to have Wazza Braun, Rowdy Gilshenan and Brittany Small come and present to the team about the significance of The Steve "Smally" Sm...all Memorial Shield. It's important to know the significance of why The Hornets and Cowboys honour him on an annual basis. In an awesome sign of respect Pine Cup captain Rohan Krahe handed over the captaincy to Trent Braun so he can lead the brothers on Saturday to honour his Uncle. Thank you to you all for coming along and presenting to the squad I know that talking about such a great Brother and Father is difficult. Thank you to our brothers for getting there early and respecting the occasion. We look forward to the weekend and honouring the memory of Smally with our Dayboro brothers. 04.01.2022 With everything that has happened today re the Corona virus ( COVID-19) we are being extra vigilant and preparing for changes that can happen at any stage. Tom...morrow is still going ahead unless the BRL or QRL advise us otherwise. We have recieved a memo this afternoon from QRL giving us guidelines on what to do which I have attached a copy for everyone to read. PLEASE if you are showing or having any symptoms of a cold stay home. Look after yourselves. We will keep everyone informed if anything changes so please keep an eye on this page as we will be posting info through here. If anyone has any questions please contact myself (Craig) [email protected] Thanks everyone. See more
04.01.2022 Dear Hornets Family, As we all know we are experiencing unprecedented times dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. We are currently awaiting direction for the QRL... and BRL who are meeting later tonight with regards to a possible delay of the start of the season. We have suspended junior & senior training for the time being. We believe it will be inevitable that at some stage there will be a suspension of training and trials. The health of our Hornets family is at the forefront of our minds. Unfortunately we are in uncertain times and the landscape is changing hourly. We will let you know as we receive information from our governing bodies. We ask that everyone remain patient and hopefully this soon passes and we can get on the field playing some footy! Any questions about fees and refunds if the season is cancelled cannot be answered at this stage until we have further direction. Our Junior season doesnt start until the 26th of April so there is still plenty of time between now and then. The senior competition is scheduled to start on the 28th of March, we expect to see some info come back to us soon with a plan of action for this season. We hope that you all can be be respectful of our decision, we are all volunteers trying to do the best for our club and our players. Any questions please contact Neil or Craig Once this passes we will need to band together more than ever... Neil OConnor President Craig Wright Secretary email [email protected]

02.01.2022 On behalf Pine Central Sports club , Chairman Col Richmond, the committee, staff and all it's members we would like to pass on our deepest sympathies on the passing of life member Jimmy Johnson at 84, to his wife and rock Lorna ,(also a life member) and his 4 boys, we all extend our sincerest thoughts and prayers to you. Jim came over from Past Brothers R.LF.C. in 1994 when HOLY SPIRIT Leagues club merged with Brothers to become Brothers- HOLY SPIRIT Leagues club. He and L...orna did an enormous amount of fundraising and promotions during this period, including many great bingo days and themed night events, countless raffles, etc. He was greatly saddened when the merger floundered in 2003. However, his support of the new entity Pine Central Sports club continued on for many years, dividing his time between us and the Brethren. Our Vice - chairman Brian Morris who first met Jim in 1974 at Brothers, has asked to add that Jimmy mentored and or greatly assisted hundreds of Rugby league players both boys and men including himself with wise and gentle words of encouragement . J.J. was also a Korean war veteran, then served the game of Rugby league for over 60 consecutive years, was also a life member of Pine Central HOLY SPIRIT R.L.F.C., Brothers R.L.F.C. (both junior and senior clubs). We thank him again for his contribution to our great club . MAY HE REST IN PEACE. See more
