03.01.2022 Successful trip last week on the Far North Queensland Gouldian Finch survey. It is amazing that this population so close to Cairns had only been recently detected. Another example of quiet birds persisting in areas where no one would ever think of going to look for them.

02.01.2022 Soggy morning today out at the little known and rarely visited Little Mulgrave National Park. This is the highest bridge over the Little Mulgrave River and would have been used many years ago for timber extraction.
