25.01.2022 Due to the extreme weather today all training has been cancelled. Here’s where our teams are playing the next couple days. Under 12’s are playing tomorrow afternoon from 4:30pm at the back oval at Princess Park.... Under 14’s are playing Saturday morning at Vibert no 2. Under 16’s are playing Saturday morning at home. B grade are playing Saturday afternoon at home. E grade are playing Saturday afternoon at Kialla West. Please pop in for a look wherever possible.

25.01.2022 Our AGM will be held this coming Monday the 7th starting at 7:30pm via Zoom. All nominations need to be emailed to [email protected] prior to the meeting and a zoom link will be posted on here on the day of the meeting. We will not know the outlook for the upcoming season due to the current climate but will be a great chance to start planning. We will require more help this year to ensure we keep our players, families and supporters safe and to follow all Corona Virus regulations so please have a think if your able to help out in any way. 23.01.2022 Cricket Shepparton Hard Wicket 100 Mid week 100 ball per side cricket Cricket Shepparton are hoping to start a mid week 100 ball a side competition. The idea is... based on the English 100 ball competition and given it is 40 balls shorter than T20 it will be finished before the light fades and makes it difficult to bat. If you don’t have time to commit to training twice a week and all Saturday afternoon but still have the itch to play cricketthis is for you! Games will be played on hard wickets so no pitch preparation required. White 2-piece cricket balls to be used. 11 per side. 50 deliveries from each end in 5 ball overs. Max 20 balls per player. 25 ball Power play to start an innings with only 2 players outside 25 metres. Free Hit after all No-balls. Players on a team must wear the same shirts but can choose to wear shorts if they wish. Full rules will be published if we get enough interest. We are hoping to set up 2 competitions. One comp open to all players One comp open to over 40-year-old players who are not regular Saturday cricketers. Please contact your local club and register your interest. 21.01.2022 Thanks to everyone that attended our first training tonight, was great that all the rules were followed and everything went smoothly. We will train again on Tuesday and with daylight savings starting on the weekend it will make it easier next week. 18.01.2022 Training cancelled 15/10/20 As you might all be aware there has been a public health alert issued for Shepparton so tomorrow’s training will be cancelled and an update will be provided on here once we have one. We want to stress that as a club we don’t have any concerns that we are aware of, but cancelling a training session while members ensure that there safety and there families safety is not at risk is a small inconvenience but is so important.... We urge that every club member and there families look on the DHHS website to check exposure sites and get tested ASAP if required so we can help the community get this under control. 13.01.2022 Season 2020/21 update - After an online meeting last night attended by Club Presidents, we have made a decision to delay the start of the 2020/21 season until ...Saturday 7th Nov. While most clubs have been successful in dealing with local councils and getting permission to train and play, we had some clubs who were delayed in getting permission granted until yesterday, some who received permission today and one club still waiting, hopefully they will hear an answer tomorrow. As a result the general consensus was that it wouldn't be fair to start when clubs had limited training before Rd 1. Our season will now start on Nov 7th with 7 One day games taking us to Dec 19th. These games will be played with red cricket balls wearing cricket whites. We will return after the Christmas/New Years break on Jan 9th to play a 3 round T20 competition on 9th, 16th & 23rd Jan. The date of the final is to be announced shortly. We return to our One day competition on Sat 30th Jan for the last 6 rounds played using white cricket balls and clubs wearing their coloured uniforms. Our finals will be played on 13th (QF), 20th (SF) & 27th March (GF) with Sunday 28th March reserved as the spare day for the GF. It's a bit different to our usual season but we have to adapt to COVID cricket. Congratulations to all clubs for the work put in so far to get us back training and a huge thank you to the councils who have helped get most clubs back onto grounds.

13.01.2022 Our family would like to advise that Dad passed away yesterday around 4pm. Dad has been fighting an illness over the last few year, sadly he was admitted to ho...spital on Sunday morning and to the doctors surprise he fought on until Tuesday afternoon. Dad spent his whole life doing whatever he could for anyone he came across and was actively involved as an volunteer at several associations or clubs. Dad was a Life Member and long time Secretary of the Rodney and District Darts Association. President and a committee member of the Pine Lodge Cricket Club. President of the Ardmona Football Netball Club. Team Manager for Dookie United Football Netball Club. Dad was a rock for so many people and the first person anyone that knew him went to for help. Loving Husband of Beryl, Father of 9 kids, Grandfather of 21 (plus 1 on the way) and Great Grandfather of 4. Miss you already mate.

11.01.2022 While we don't have a Return to Cricket date just yet, what we can be sure about is that sharing cricket equipment (helmets, bats, gloves) will not be allowed. ... It won't be too much of an issue at Senior cricket level but at Junior level, in particular Under 10's and 12's, a lot of junior cricketers don't have their own gear. Time to clean out the garage or bottom of the wardrobe and donate any "used but still usable" cricket gear to your local cricket club where it can be cleaned, sanitized and put to good use by our future superstars! 07.01.2022 Christmas Party/Big Bash trip. There was some talk around a Christmas Party on Thursday afternoon this week, this wasn’t organised as we had a team playing in a T20 semi final last night and the final is scheduled tomorrow, unfortunately we lost but with the extreme weather as well it’s been decided to not have the Christmas Party. We are looking at planning a bus trip to a Big Bash game so we need to know people interest, please comment if your keen and how many adults and k...ids, this is open to all senior and junior players and families. The game we are planning is Melbourne Stars V Melbourne Renagades on Saturday 4th of January at the MCG starting at 7:10pm. We will get a 57 seat bus and first in best dressed. 06.01.2022 ****JUNIOR UPDATE**** Good Evening, we are still working on getting the use of grounds and nets but here’s a few dates for the upcoming junior cricket season. Under 14’s a grading game on 17th of October the regular season starts on November 7th.... Under 12’s is starting on November 6th with a 6 week block before Christmas. Under 10’s is starting on November 11th with a 6 week block before Christmas. If your child played last year it would be great if you could confirm either on here, or send Travis a message on 0436464522 if they are playing or not this season, or you know of any new players. We are trying hard to get our own under 14’s but are still short so please let Travis Waters or Calvin Nugent know if you know any kids that might be keen. This season we are going to need more help then ever to keep our kids safe and to comply with Covid regulations, so please be aware of this and if you are in a position to help that would be great. Thanks and once we secure the use of grounds and nets and can commence training I will let you all know.

06.01.2022 Under 14’s update. Our under 14’s this season will again be a combined team with Karramomus, this was a great success last season. Calvin and James Nugent will be our coaches this season along with a couple young coaches from Karramomus.... Training will be 4:15pm Tuesday and Thursday afternoons with Tuesday and Vibert Reseve and Thursday at Lemnos. There is no training tomorrow afternoon given it’s a public holiday and we understand if the kids can’t make it to 2 training sessions a week but would encourage them to get to as many as possible.

04.01.2022 Senior training this week will be tomorrow (Wednesday) at 5:30pm because the nets can’t be used Thursday with E grade playing a Twenty20, everyone is expected to train tomorrow arvo and come and support E grade on Thursday.

03.01.2022 ******Season Update****** As you are all aware the cricket season is not far aware and everyone is keen to start training and get into round 1, we have been working very hard to get our Covid safe plans in place and we have received the approval from Cricket Shepparton but we are still waiting for approval from the Council. I understand that everyone is keen to start training and it can be frustrating waiting but it’s important that everything is in place so we can operate s...afely. So at this stage we can not start training, but we are working hard to get training under way and as soon as we are in a position to provide an update on this we will do so. Once training is right to start we have some very strict guidelines to follow, we can only have 3 groups of 10 at the ground at once, this includes 1 group of 10 in the nets and the ground will be divided in half so we can have 2 groups of 10 on the oval. At no stage during training can people move between groups and no sharing of gear is allowed, as you can see there will be a lot of work involved to have training run smoothly so we will require everyone’s cooperation once we get the green light. Hopefully we can provided more info by early next week.
