22.01.2022 Vale Maurice (Morrie) Young - Funeral Notice Dear Members, It is with sadness we inform you that Maurie Young passed away on 13 November 2020. Maurie was a long-standing member of PRRC. He was Captain for a number of years and part of the record holding Brisbane to Ipswich crew. In 2017 PRRC named a new quad/four in Maurie’s honour. ... A celebration of Maurie’s life will be held at Generation Funerals (19 Markwell Street, Kingaroy) at 11am on 23 November 2020. For those who are unable to attend the service will be live streamed. We extend our deepest condolences to Maurie’s wife, Ness, and the Young family.
22.01.2022 The club received sad news that Mrs Thelma Sprott, our patron since 1997, passed away last Tuesday 11 August aged 103. She has been a great supporter of the club for most of its existence with her 4 sons Keith, Malcolm, Jeffrey, Neville, and daughter in law Helen all rowing for PRRC, filling various committee positions, winning Qld Championships and representing Qld. For years Thelma and her husband Eric virtually handed their home over to the club every Saturday morning for ...the preparation and tidy up for the pub meat tray raffles that were the only regular income the club had. On many occasions they just left the back door open as they were out for the morning. In addition, while she could, she would be at all our regattas, including Nationals, working on in the kitchen helping with fund raising. Mrs Sprott often asked why she was made patron (and why for so long), but without her and her families contribution the may not have had the many rowing successes on record, or be in the strong position it is in today. On 6 May 2017 the Clubhouse was named the Thelma Sprott Boathouse in her honour. See more

11.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we must share the news of Jim Boffeys passing yesterday. Jim was a long standing member who was a great asset to the club. Jim joined PRRC back in 2006. He attended a learn to row course so he could row in the transplant games and liked the sport of rowing so much he stayed on competing in masters events for many years.... Jim was a very active member of the club and served as vice captain and captain on the committee. He was extremely generous with his time and always willing to help out. He did a huge amount of work behind the scenes entering people into regattas, mending boats and generally keeping the club running. He will be very much missed. Our thoughts are with Marlene and family PRRC Committee
11.01.2022 Members: Please note the Queensland Government now requires all businesses (including clubs and associations) to implement electronic registration of participants attending a facility or event. Thank you for your continued cooperation! 1. On your phone or tablet, open the built-in ...camera app. 2. Point the camera at the QR code. 3. Tap the banner that appears on your phone or tablet. 4. Follow the instructions on the screen to finish signing in. See more

10.01.2022 For all club members: The following advise has just been received from Rowing Qld. (Copied below). It basically boils down to the fact that we can continue as at present, except an additional check is now required that persons who have visited affected locations identified by Queensland Healths contact tracing information page should not attend the club. ... See https://www.qld.gov.au//cor/current-status/contact-tracing or up to date list. We will display the contact tracing locations adjacent to the sign in station and modify the sign in book to reflect this additional requirement. ==================== Further Guidance COVID-19 restrictions announced 22 August 2020 Further to our email of 22 August we are able to confirm that the COVID-19 restrictions announced on 22 August 2020 do not apply to Community Sporting activities which are subject to an approved COVID Safe Industry Plan as is the case for rowing. However, an additional check has been added requiring that persons who have visited affected locations identified by Queensland Healths contact tracing information page should not attend organised sport, active recreation or fitness activities until further information on the situation comes to hand. Please update your members on this new requirement, display the contact tracing locations adjacent to your sign in station and modify your attendance register to reflect this additional requirement. Thank you for your continued observance of the requirements for the safe management of the COVID-19 threat.

04.01.2022 News update - rowing restriction changes Hello members We have new Covid19 guidelines to work with - and alterations to our current rowing conditions are outlined below. Please read them carefully and enjoy the new changes while ensuring you keep our members and club safe by strictly adhering to the restrictions. ... As of SATURDAY 6 JUNE: - 19 time slots will be available each morning allowing 19 (coaches/rowers only) to be onsite from 5:30am , depart by 9:30am.(and Cliff who is permanent and therefore the 20th person) All coaches and rowers must book a timeslot and sign in / out in the registration book on the clubhouse porch. It is still vital that you manage the number of people in each 4sq meter space - 2 maximum -Doubles/ pairs can be booked with the following conditions: -only pre-established crews can row together - any double and/or pair row must be with the same person each session - once you have established who your double/ pair partner will be, send your crew names to [email protected] Once nominated, that is the crew you must row until further relaxation is allowed by the State Government and Rowing Qld. NB The Committee is enabling this as RQ guidelines have ok'd however it is not encouraged and we ask that you only row if you can maintain the 1.5 meter distance rules. - One toilet will be available - use this one only and clean before and after each use. Antibacterial Wipes and spray will be available - please be thorough and place wipes in the bin provided not in the bowl. Thorough handwashing also please. All other precautions are still to be followed - any boat and oars can only be used once each day. With an increase in numbers rowing please be mindful of which oars may have already been used that day and choose another set. Boats and oars must be thoroughly washed with boat soap and water after each use paying particular attention to any parts that are handled. Please get in touch via [email protected] if you would like any further clarification or conversation around the changes. Kind regards Meridy on behalf of the PRRC Committee .

01.01.2022 Competitive Membership Renewal: Hi Everyone, Happy New Year!!... Just a quick note to alert members renewing their competitive membership that some may receive an invoice that doesn't show the Rowing Australia fee component. ie. $632.40 instead of $650 for Adult memberships. The problem is at the Rowing Australia end in Revolutionise. Registrations can continue, however the missing fee component will be invoiced when the problem is fixed. We apologise for any inconvenience, we had hoped this problem would have been resolved prior to the New year. If you require any further information, please email [email protected] Kind Regards Anne Holmes | Treasurer Pine Rivers Rowing Club
