20.01.2022 Return to Training: As we slowly edge our way out of isolation I would like to provide an update on PRTSC return to play plans for 2020. Following a committee meeting last night we have made the decision to postpone our return to training until Monday 13 July (start of term 3). This means if all goes well we enter phase 3 of the Queensland Governments return to play framework, which makes it a little easier for us to deliver our program effectively. It also allows time for... our committee to put the appropriate processes in place to ensure the safety of our community. Most of our running members will soon receive an email to update their membership for 2020. We recommend holding off until 13 July to ensure you get a full 12 months value. We will issue a reminder as we approach this date. NB: the Queensland Government has just announced an extension to the Sport vochures which you may be eligible for so check out the website for more details. https://www.qld.gov.au//spo/funding/active-clubs-kickstart

11.01.2022 Dear Members, Last week the Queensland Government announced a 3 stage plan for sport to get back to normal training. There has been some confusion on what this actually means, so just want to reiterate to our members that PRTSC will be following the advice of Queensland Athletics who are being proactive in this process. At this stage, there is no advice that allows us to return to the track, so for the immediate future, we are unable to return to any group training. You may... have seen media in which says sport can train in groups of 10, however there are some complexities around this which we need to consider. PRTSC committee will continue to monitor the ever-evolving situation and as soon as we receive advice on a safe and responsible return to sport we will let you know. In the meantime make sure you sign up for the Athletics Australia virtual challenge and continue to train with your families to stay fit and healthy during this challenging time. Take care Lee

07.01.2022 Health Alert: Smoke Smoke from bushfires is impacting regions across Queensland, in particular Brisbane, Gold Coast and Ipswich. If you can see smoke or d...ust in the air, you should limit your time spent outdoors until conditions clear. Fine smoke particles can cause health problems including: itchy or burning eyes, throat irritation, a runny nose and illnesses like bronchitis. They can also aggravate existing lung conditions, like chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and asthma. Symptoms can occur for several days after smoke is inhaled. Residents should: Move inside and stay inside as much as possible Close windows and doors Use fans or air conditioning on recirculating mode to keep cool Move outdoor events to an indoor venue or reschedule Keep medications close by if suffering a respiratory condition Be vigilant in taking prescribed medications for existing lung conditions Children, the elderly and anyone with a chronic illness or respiratory issue are at particular risk. Take care of these people by ensuring they stay inside and have any prescribed medications close by. Seek medical advice or call Triple Zero (000) if you or someone in your care is experiencing adverse reactions to smoke such as shortness of breath, prolonged coughing or wheezing. For information on air quality in your area follow the link below.

06.01.2022 I didn't think I would ever have to post a pollution warning in Queensland however due to the unprecedented bushfire situation the Qld Gov has issued a health warning across Brisbane.
