25.01.2022 We had a great week-end with our Level 2 Teacher Trainees. Our trainees got creative with yoga props; blocks, straps, chairs, blankets and the wall. Along with a deep dive on yoga props, they also presented some insightful practices on yin yoga, power yoga, heart sutra, yoga nidra, yoga for the sacroiliac joint, and yoga to improve vagal tone.

07.01.2022 Melinda and her children made coloured paper origami boats that each student placed on their belly in the Thursday night beginners class at Petrie. The students explored a tactile and visualisation practice of the little boat riding the wave of their belly breath. "Inhale little boat rising to the crest of the wave. Exhale and the little boat settles on calm waters as the belly falls and ribcage softens."

03.01.2022 Why bend your knees in Uttanasana (standing forward fold)? The short answer is, to free up your pelvis and sacrum. Read on to learn more. - When the knees are bent the hamstrings dont pull on the pelvis and the pelvis is free to tip slightly forward to follow the movement of the sacrum. - When the sacrum and pelvis are free to move in the same direction the sacroiliac joints are not stressed.... 03.01.2022 We'll soon be taking a break to rest and restore over the summer season. Listed below are the finish dates for each class. Thursday and Friday night classes and both Saturday classes finish the week ending 12th December. All other classes finish the week ending Saturday 19th December (apart from Monday morning which finishes on the 21st December).
